As a Graphic Design Officer within our Student Associations team, you’ll design and produce a range of high-quality print and digital media to promote the profile of, and engagement with, our various student associations.

 Other responsibilities include

• Liaise with Student Associations team members to determine design requirements and advise on suitable solutions in keeping with industry standards and trends that relate to students.
• Update and maintain Student Associations websites
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure efficient, timely and cost-effective solutions
• Maintain and manage design assets

About you
As an early career or experienced Graphic Designer, you will have an eye for detail, a flair for creativity and a keenness to stay across industry trends.  Your strong communication skills enable you to work with diverse stakeholders to undertake briefs and deliver quality creative services.

Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator), Photoshop, MS Office (Word and PowerPoint) and email systems such as Vision6 is required.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 4 range $70,419 - $74,299 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $82,390 - $86,929 per annum (pro rata).

In this role, you will lead workshops with key stakeholders and third-party vendors, establish design requirements, and ensure the product delivers a best-in-class user experience. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into compelling and intuitive digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Discovery & Research:

  • Conduct in-depth user research to identify pain points, opportunities, and user needs

  • Facilitate and lead workshops with external stakeholders and third-party vendors to gather insights, define project scope, and set clear design goals.

  • Establish a clear vision for the product's user experience, rooted in research findings and industry best practices.

• Design Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop a UX strategy that aligns with business objectives and user needs.

  • Define design requirements and create a roadmap for the product’s UX development.

  • Create personas, journey maps, and wireframes to visualise user interactions.

• Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration:

  • Promote user-centred design principles during all phases of the product lifecycle.

• UX Design & Prototyping:

  • Lead the design and development of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity user interfaces.

Day to day:

• Interaction Design Leadership: Lead the design and development of interaction models, UI patterns, and prototypes that ensure consistency across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.
• Collaborative Design Workshops: Facilitate and lead collaborative design workshops, co-design sessions, and usability tests with customers and stakeholders to align on product vision and user experience.
• Design Systems & Usability: Drive the continuous improvement of our design systems, ensuring usability and accessibility are at the forefront of every design decision.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to other designers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the design team.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Product Owner Marketing Technology, you will join the business as an integral part of our digital projects team. You will drive the delivery of guest centric design solutions for both new and existing digital experiences across all customer journeys. Use your skills in understanding user pain points and user interaction design to deliver exceptional guest experiences.  This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity, to dip your toes in the water and gain beneficial experience with a growing, fast paced business and industry!

The User Experience Designer will also:

• Creates innovative solutions for a wide variety of user experience design challenges across all digital channels centred around new Headless CMS for holiday parks and resorts.
• Leads the design for new digital experiences and improvements of existing digital experiences.
• Identifies guest blockers/issues and opportunities to drive booking conversion, while championing the guest through creative and collaborative problem solving.
• Advocates for guest centric design solutions, highlighting inputs that influenced the decisions (including business and user goals, customer analytics, user testing and research findings).
• Develops visual concepts, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Develops and maintains detailed user-interface specifications and digital brand style guides (including Figma and brand style guides, style sheets, templates, and assets).
• Presents design work to multiple teams and senior leadership for review and feedback.

What you will bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in user/customer experience design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer or similar role.
• Understanding of conversion optimisation principles, user testing methodology and processes
• A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions
• Experience working in a fast paced ever changing environment. 
• Passion and enthusiasm for providing an exceptional customer experience and all things digital
