About the Role:

The Senior Finance Analyst role is instrumental in the build-up of the Budget, Forecast and Plan as well as ensuring all month end, half year and full year accounting and financial reporting requirements are delivered on time with a high standard.

This role will report on financial performance and results, providing analysis on drivers of variances. As the Senior Lead – Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in developing and driving the strategic direction of TAL. Working closely with TAL’s business units, you will support with the identification, analysis, development, and recommendation of strategic initiatives.
You will help facilitate and deliver the annual strategy process of TAL, including the development of the Board Strategy Day Workshop materials and reporting to TAL’s parent company, Dai-ichi Life.

This is a permanent role, working flexibly from our Sydney office.

In this role you will: 

• Drive critical thinking to define and assess the overarching strategic themes to enable TAL to pursue its Purpose.
• Evaluate external factors and market trends to identify potential strategic risks and growth opportunities for TAL, keeping key decision makers informed.
• Lead strategic projects and initiatives to improve strategic planning and to create shareholder value for TAL.
• Lead the development of strategic narratives and communicate clear insights and recommendations to senior leaders in the business or key decision-makers.
• Develop reports and presentations for the Board and Executive Team and interpret complex material for Board and Executive Team strategy planning.
• Research, evaluate and recommend strategic initiatives that are of benefit to TAL (e.g., growth opportunities, corporate development opportunities).
• Lead the team, making sure that the appropriate people plan is in place to recruit, retain, train & develop people effectively.
• Build strong networks across TAL to encourage cross-functional connections and knowledge sharing, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
