Finance Manager Sydney - Eastern Suburbs Permanent Role - Full Time Salary: $150,000 + Super In-office role - 5 days per week on-site
Cox Purtell is currently working with a prestigious independent school based in the Eastern Suburbs with a history spanning over 100 years. Famous for their outstanding academic, cultural, and sporting achievements. A workplace with a real community feel, where staff are highly valued and respected.
Our client is looking to hire an accomplished Finance Manager to lead and manage the day to day running of the business office while partnering with organisation leaders.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished leader - able to nurture, galvanise and lead a team of 5 reports, as well as building important business partnering relationships across the breath of the organisation. An independent self-starter who's keen to manage and run the finance function with as much autonomy as you desire - key for this role will be strong budgeting experience - especially regarding process implementation - bringing a growth mindset and a focus on process improvement.
The successful candidate would be happy to work in a Christian faith school environment, interfacing daily with teachers and staff.
Your Area of Responsibilities:

Lead month-end process (incl. general ledger reconciliations, cash flow management, credit card reconciliations etc.).
Preparation and distribution of financial management reports.
Preparation of annual financial reports & returns to government depts.
Preparation/review of annual budget including long term forecasts.
Preparation of financial models for various business proposals.
First point of contact for external auditors.
Management of the organisation's insurance portfolio & completion of annual insurance renewal.
Lead finance projects such as system/software implementation and business modelling presentations as required.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements: (GST, FBT, ACNC, ABS and other as required)
Oversee AP, AR and Payroll functions - ultimately accountable for accuracy.

Your Profile: The ideal candidate would have prior experience in Education or NFP sector and have excellent finance leadership & business partnering skills.

Extensive finance team leadership & business partnering experience.
Strong budgeting skills - leading the annual budgeting process & identifying process improvements.
Strong technical foundation - (month end, management reporting, budgeting and modelling.
Systems implementation experience - new system roll-out planned for 2025.
People management skills - you will lead a team of 5 direct reports.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working in faith-based school environment.
