As the Hydraulic Mechanical Engineering Technician at our Cairns Branch , your purpose is to assist with achieving sustained business growth targets and service quality control by providing customer service excellence and detailed design work and analyses data in support of our internal sales and technical hydraulic team. In addition, you will provide clients with relevant technical and design support and provide technical and assembly guidance to service technicians either on site or in the workshop. Task & Responsibilities Your role: • Analysing and assessing hydraulic systems and designs to ensure functionality and diagnosis is in accordance with manufacturing specifications • Testing mechanical and hydraulic equipment to ensure proper function, and identify faults • Repairing defective hydraulic systems and components • Assembly and installation of mechanical and hydraulic components • Develop and presenting internal technical support and training • Provide assistance in strategic planning, failure analysis, equipment performance reviews and maintenance improvements - leading and coaching team members in the active pursuit and achievement of maintenance excellence • Work with sales teams to optimize product exposure to drive both growth and profitability, including cost estimates and system requirements • Ensure the service centre has appropriate technical support, quality and safety control measures in place • Responsible for drafting up hydraulic drawings and designs for all internal projects and consulting with OEM Mechanical / Design Engineers on major design concepts • Liaise with OEM and other vendors to source information and components as required Qualification & Experience About you: • Minimum AQF relevant Diploma or equivalent plus 2 year’s experience or minimum 3 years of relevant work experience • Hands on experience in the overhaul, repair, remanufacture and assembly of hydraulic components - cylinders, pumps, motors and valves • Understanding of hydraulic principles and in-depth product and industry knowledge • Hydraulic system and component design experience • Ability to interpret part manuals and catalogues • Ability to prepare clear and concise service and analysis reports • A strong sense of pride in your workmanship and a desire to achieve a high level of professional customer service • C class manual drivers licence or ability to obtain one A forklift ticket [LF] is desirable, as is a HR Licence (can be obtain) but of the highest priority is your commitment to safety, quality and productivity.
