You will be responsible for developing and optimising processes and parameters on our assembly machines as well as ensuring the optimal performance and availability of our assembly machines, which are used to produce high-quality products for the medical device and cosmetic industries. Task & Responsibilities As an Assembly Machine Engineer at Dowson, you will play a crucial role in our Business. You will Design and conduct experiments to test and evaluate the performance and quality of assembly machines and product Analyse data and results to identify and implement process improvements and optimisations Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WIs) for running the assembly machine. Run the machine and provide technical support and guidance to other assembly machine support personnel and technicians. Collaborate with other engineers, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure issues are identified and resolved and processes are aligned and integrated into the overall factory flow. Research and apply the latest technologies and best practices in assembly machine processes, reliability engineering and design engineering Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assembly machines and related equipment. Identify and implement improvements to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and safety of assembly machines. Analyse data and trends to monitor the performance and condition of assembly machines Document and report on the activities and results of reliability engineering projects Maintain a keen eye for detail to help identify and prevent defects in the assembly process. Accurately complete production documentation and work records. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including quality and safety regulations. Upholding a safe and productive working environment for all team members. Qualification & Experience A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field At least seven years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in an assembly machine environment Strong knowledge of reliability and process engineering principles, methods, and tools RCA FMEA SPC (including DOE) Proficient in using data analysis software and programming languages Excellent attitude, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills A proactive and creative approach to improving assembly machine reliability and performance Proven experience improving machine availability and performance Commitment to safety and quality.
