Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Data Analyst/Data Scientist to understand evolving needs and define the data processing flow or interactive reports.
• Discuss with the stakeholders from other teams to better understand how data flows are used within the existing environment.
• Propose solutions for the cloud-based architecture and deployment flow.
• Design and build processes, data transformation, and metadata to meet business requirements and platform needs.
• Design and propose solutions for the Relational and Dimensional Model based on platform capabilities.
• Develop, maintain, test, and evaluate big data solutions.
• Focus on production status and data quality of the data environment.
• Pioneer initiatives around data quality, integrity, and security.

The Opportunity

Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Structural Assessment and Design Engineer in our Services & Manufacturing Excellence team based in Port Kembla NSW. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

In this role, you will work with plant departments to identify and manage our plants structural condition. With mentoring from our experienced team, you will enhance our internal technical capability to deliver cost effective, risk based structural inspection. Providing corrective action advice, you’ll work with our inspection technicians and focus on the continuous improvement in uptime and overall operational security.

What Will You Do?

Reporting to the Crane and Structural Inspection Team leader, you will have a hands-on approach and a keen interest to grow and develop yourself technically. You will also:

• provide structural expertise and advice to minimise the business risk of structures whilst ensuring compliance with all applicable statutory policies and standards
• actively participate within engineering networks to maximise intellectual capture of knowledge management
• develop Structural Inspection and reporting processes and procedures utilising internal systems
• develop and maintain sound relationships with internal customers and promotion of the internal structural inspection capability

You will be a member of the Symbio Global Infrastructure department, and involved in delivering the systems, platforms, & infrastructure that underpin Symbio’s products globally.

As a Network Engineer in the Network Reliability Engineering team, you will work on hardware & software lifecycle projects ensuring we maintain the security & quality of our infrastructure and the customer facings products that it supports.

Help us modernize our tech stack as we develop & rollout new feature & capabilities, and as we improve efficiency, consistency, & quality through improvements to network automation, observability, and our network operations processes.

Once onboarded, this role is expected to participate in the team’s after-hours support roster, which operates on a rotating schedule every 4 to 6 weeks.
