About the Role (Your Why)

We are seeking people passionate about getting into the Cybersecurity space but who more importantly have a strong Windows 10/11 and/or Microsoft Server background to join our amazing Cyber team here at Datacom. This opportunity for a technical problem-solver who is keen to make the next step into cybersecurity operations.

You will work under the guidance of a Cybersecurity Architect and collaborate with Datacom engineering and client teams to implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures. The role is focused on endpoint security and will leverage your skills around the configuration of Windows endpoints, Microsoft Office365 and Active Directory via group policy, SCCM and Intune. As for your cyber skills, we can train you in any key security concepts that you may need to use in the role but don't currently have. Skills in such areas as scripting and automation would also be beneficial.

Our offices are based across the country. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!

What You’ll Do

• Configure Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office using Group Policy, SCCM/MECM, and Intune.
• Ensure compliance with Australian cybersecurity frameworks such as the ACSC ISM and Essential Eight.
• Utilize XDR products with a focus on Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
• Develop and execute scripts using PowerShell and other sources to gather information for audit reports.
• Collaborate with Datacom engineering and client teams to address cybersecurity challenges.
• Continuously seek opportunities to enhance your cybersecurity knowledge and skills.

What You’ll Bring

- Essential Skills:

• Solid experience configuring Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office using Group Policy, SCCM/MECM, and Intune.
• A curious mindset and a strong desire to progress your career in the field of cybersecurity.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineering and client teams.

- Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with Australian cybersecurity frameworks such as the ACSC ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight.
• Experience with XDR products, particularly Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
• Proficiency in scripting using PowerShell and other tools to gather information for audit reports.
• Are able to assist with auditing.

About the Role (your why)

Due to continued growth within our team, we have a newly created role in the Sydney area. Working as a Desktop Support Engineer you will be responsible for the provision of all aspects of End User Services to Datacom’s customers. Aligned to our customers business requirements, we provide tailored maintenance services, hardware and software break/ fix support, remote support, software deployment and relocation services.

This role will be based on-site in Sydney. Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, no visa sponsorships provided.

Please note that this current opportunity is for a 12-month, full time fixed-term contract.

What you’ll do

At the moment, as Desktop Support Engineer you will be focused on:

• Providing excellent technical support in a high-paced environment where customer satisfaction is paramount.
• Assisting new users with their IT hardware collection and setup.
• Ensuring new equipment, such as Laptops and Mobile phones, are up to date and deployment ready prior to release to customers
• Recording all customer contacts in the appropriate ITSM tool
• Keeping commitments to customers with regard to progress updates
• Using tools and processes to deliver services to customers in accordance with SLAs
• Proactively manage and maintain customer infrastructure as directed
• Initiate and drive service and process improvement

What you’ll bring

Required experience:

• Exceptional customer experience with regard to end user services
• The ability to prioritise work to ensure achievement of all service level agreements
• Sound knowledge of Laptops, Desktop PC's, printers, media and audio-visual equipment, BYOD and mobility

Nice to have:

• You will bring excellent verbal and written communication and have the ability to articulate technical information to the target audience. Your professional customer service will be second to none, and you will have the ability to work autonomously with excellent time management.
