As the Business Unit Manager you will be the senior contact of media implementation within our retailer clients’ business, taking care of all senior level client relationships and delivering excellent service levels both yourself and via your team. Using this insight, coupled with your exceptional communication skills and sales acumen, you will build and maintain strong, lasting relationships.  

 Key Responsibilities: 

• Set the strategy and vision for developing and improving our delivery to client, identifying opportunities to improve what we do.
• Be a respected and valued expert to our clients by keeping abreast of latest industry developments and making recommendations that deliver meaningful improvements.
• Support the Client Service Director, shadowing financial processes (FP, AP, 3+9 etc) and leading on stakeholder management.
• Build our capability and credibility to deliver business intelligence and insights to clients that help them to understand the value of our business, whilst also showing how we can further improve what we do.
• Drive and deliver the commercials.
• Build the right team to allow you to “lead” and provide strategic thinking for the wider team.
• Produce and present engaging, innovative proposals.
• Ensure high standards by holding to account/ taking ownership for broader teams to successfully deliver client needs against client expectations, KRA’s, target gross and net profit.
• Develop new business opportunities within your own client and beyond and support wider CPM initiatives on media implementation to help grow the CPM Group media implementation universe.

Requirements:  

• Retail or agency background.
• Experience in media implementation / merchandising.
• A creative thinker who can breakdown a client brief/objectives and propose brilliant solutions.
• Strong client handling skills and experience managing clients at mid - senior level.
• Amazing people skills with the ability to build rapport and influence internal teams as needed.
• Commercially astute, good with numbers and able to demonstrate a capability to deliver commercial plans.

• Tertiary qualification in Employment Law/Human Resources/related field, or equivalent experience.

• Sound judgement and ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and discretion.

• Experience in coaching, mentoring and leading others.

• Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects and tasks.

About the opportunity

We are looking for an Orchard Manager to manage a section of our recently planted macadamia orchards in Maryborough, Queensland. We are seeking someone with a proven understanding of macadamia orchard requirements, a commitment to precision and safety, with strong leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible to:

• Maximise yields through systematic planning, operational efficiency, optimising crop performance, completion of tasks and removal of constraints in conjunction with other roles.
• Assist with the development and monthly review of operational budgets and capital expenditure optimising expenditure where possible and meeting forecasts.
• Oversee farm maintenance and operational activities including but not limited to:

1. Spraying
2. Pruning, fertilising, slashing, and mulching
3. Irrigation
4. Harvesting
5. Farm maintenance and drainage, including continuous improvement of systems.

• Lead and develop workers, managing disciplinary and non-compliance issues as required.
• Act as a role model by demonstrating precise and safe work behaviours and reinforcing policies and procedures.
• Identify training needs of workers.
• Participate in nutrition and irrigation management planning.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of farming systems, safety and environmental processes.
• Manage disciplinary and non-compliance as required.
• Ensure records/forms are maintained for development and operational inputs, maintenance, chemical spraying, fertilising, irrigating, payroll and cost allocation timesheets and safety.

The following criteria are essential to be successful in this position:

• Formal training in horticulture or demonstrated tree crop experience essential.
• Formal training in leadership preferred.
• Experience with MS Office suite, particularly Excel for managing budgets essential.
• Experience managing teams including employees, labour hire and contractors essential.
• Advanced experience and knowledge of land improvement techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.
• Safety training will be highly regarded.
• Macadamia experience highly regarded.
