About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Payments Business Analyst specialising in Card Schemes based in Australia. This role is perfect for a professional with payments Business Analyst experience particularly with card networks such as Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Diners and EFTPOS. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating the complexities of card schemes, regulatory frameworks, and providing guidance helping optimise payments processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide business analyst capabilities on card schemes, interchange fees, and transaction processing including monitoring scheme reports.
• Work with internal stakeholders to navigate enhancement change programmes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, card networks, and payment processors.
• Conduct detailed analysis and reporting on card transaction trends, interchange fees, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies within the payments ecosystem.
• Support Acquiring Operations team in navigating compliance challenges, particularly with card scheme mandates other industry changes.
• Lead workshops and training sessions for internal stakeholders on best practices in card schemes and payment strategies.
  

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years' Business Analyst experience in the payments industry, with a focus on card schemes.
• Strong understanding of Visa, MasterCard, and EFTPOS networks, including fee structures, compliance requirements, and risk management.
• Experience in payment gateway integration, acquiring, and processing services.
• Proven track record of delivering payment project changes and problem solving capabilities
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks especially local Australian payment regulations.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in data analysis and cost optimization related to card payments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A collaborative mindset, with experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver payments solutions.

Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, the Business Development Manager at Rest is instrumental in identifying and securing new employer partnerships to expand our Number of Members (NOM) in alignment with strategic goals. This role involves identifying prospective employers, cultivating relationships with potential employers, enhancing awareness of Rest's offerings, and ensuring positive engagement with our brand. • Drive new business acquisition for Rest Super, focusing on strategic relations and managing a robust pipeline.
• Foster growth within existing employer networks and their parent companies.

Reporting directly tot he GM, Finance Business Partnering.  Partner with the Rest team and outsource partners to optimise our opportunities to deliver on our member and employer promises, including sound financial management and ensuring our members and the funds rights are protected.

Ensures accounting principles and practices are in place and delivered through the team to service, support and guide service partners and internal and external stakeholders on a day to day basis.

This involves budgetary and expense control and managing internal and external stakeholders to influence, advise and achieve desired business outcomes.

Provision of all business finance partnering capability for agreed Rest business units and divisions including

• Leading finance engagement and managing senior stakeholders to ensure that their finance needs are met.
• Spearheading delivery of key finance responsibilities and accountabilities for agreed business units, ensuring always that deliverables are completed on time and accurately.
• Strategic financial analysis for business opportunities, input into business cases, benefit identification, monitoring and realisation.
• Providing impactful analysis and decision support across business units.
• Preparation of the annual budget to be incorporated into the annual business plan.
• Assisting Stakeholders with Best Financial Interest Duty Assessments, including NPV calculations.
• Assistance with forecasting and monitoring including assisting cost centre managers with accurate and regular financial reporting.
• Promoting a culture of innovation and value add, encouraging staff to initiate innovative responses to current and future business needs.
• Display effective influencing skills, ability to build trust and challenge existing practice.
• Provide partnering in the form of coaching, advice, support and recommendations to business unit stakeholders to ensure understanding of budget financial responsibility and where financial performance indicators could improve. This will involve ensuring that operating costs are aligned with the overall strategic business plan.
• Ensure appropriate controls within the finance function are complied with and operating effectively to manage the operating risks, including manager and employee education, procedures and expense authorisation processes.
• Assist the business and transformation delivery management teams in the estimation of future costs and benefits for use in business case and budget preparation, and year on year spend for annual planning and forecasting purposes.
• Develop and implement new systems and processes to ensure ongoing efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
• Promote Rest’s financial risk management framework.

The Risk Managers primary focus is on the management and coordination of risk management, ensuring that all elements of risk to the project are identified, analysed, reported and solutions/mitigations developed and implemented. 
 
The main duties of a risk manager are: 

• Coordination of risk management to ensure effective project delivery to the highest industry standards. 

• Undertaking both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment (QRA for cost and prolongation risk related to time activities) to support informed and evidence-based decision making within the project. 

• Building and promoting a risk-aware culture across the project which includes increasing levels of awareness, understanding and commitment to risk management issues. 

• Ensuring a program of individual and small group risk reviews and reports are completed to facilitate an accurate understanding of actual and potential risk exposures across the project and facilitating solutions and mitigations, including any required controls and actions. Capturing the data in a risk register to manage the project risk profile. 

• Completing risk reporting associated with monitoring project contingency and potential scope modifications made during the project. 

• Coordinating and reviewing project status reporting and assisting with arrangements for key governance meetings. 

• Providing subject matter expert advice to the project management team in relation to risk management. 

• Supporting the project controls and contract management functions as required.
