Salary: $90,000 plus 11.5% superannuation
Our client, Service Chef Pty Ltd. is a leading provider of maintenance and repair services for the food and hospitality industry. Service Chef specialises in offering innovative and cost-effective solutions using advanced technology, software, and training techniques to restaurants, clubs, hotels, airports, aged care facilities, and hospitals.
The client is currently seeking an experienced Refrigeration Mechanics to join its team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the installation, repair, and planned maintenance of a diverse range of commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment for our valued clients.
You will be responsible for various locations including Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. This role is full time, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday with overtime as required.
The successful applicant will be trade qualified, motivated with proven experience in the air conditioning / refrigeration fields. operate autonomously with little supervision and have a strong commitment to safety and working in a team environment.
Minimum Requirements:
• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or minimum 3 years’ experience
• The applicant would need to demonstrate technical skills with background knowledge and experience in a commercial kitchen equipment or similar environment.
• Expert in interpreting schematic drawings, product manuals or troubleshooting guides to diagnose and resolve the complex issue and provide the technical support for service team.
What you will be responsible for:
• Attend service calls according to daily job priorities assigned by the customer service team.
• Establish job requirements from drawings and specifications, and laying out installation reference points
• Reading, interpreting and working from blueprints, drawings, schematics, diagrams, sketches, and specifications
• Conduct high-quality field service repairs at the customer's place of business.
• Conduct planned maintenance and repair across a diverse array of commercial kitchen refrigeration equipment.
• Calibrate and adjust thermostats, valves, and controls to specified levels of operation
• Diagnosing faults and repairing and replacing defective components
• Checking installed refrigeration systems for faults or problems
• Pressure testing systems with gas or fluid to check for leaks
• Conduct comprehensive inspections to pinpoint equipment malfunctions, defective components, and potential challenges.
• Efficiently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly, aiming to minimize downtime and optimise operational efficiency.
• Installing and repairing components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches and gauges, and copper lines for steam, gas, refrigerant, compressed air, oil and chilled water
• Offer comprehensive technical support and maintenance advice to end users as needed.
• Document all appliance repair information and parts usage on service reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers, explaining the repairs conducted and ensuring a superior customer service experience.
• Manage van stock and maintain the appearance of the company vehicle.
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
Skills, experience and attributes:
• Minimum 3 years’ post trade experience with installation, maintenance, diagnosis and repairs of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR)
• Extensive Experience with diagnostic and troubleshooting
• Sound technical knowledge of all aspects of the electrical and refrigeration industry
• Ability to build and maintain successful professional relationships with clients and other trades on site
• Ability to read and work to designed plans
• Ability to recognise and solve service/ maintenance problems
