Are you a skilled accountant looking to elevate your career with a leading financial services firm? Join our dynamic team as we continue to grow and make impactful decisions. We are looking for an experienced accountant to assist in various financial and strategic initiatives, helping guide the company's financial health and compliance. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, experience in the mortgage industry, and ability to provide accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting & Presentation: Prepare detailed financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and statutory bodies, ensuring accuracy and clarity of financial data.
• Budgeting & Accounting Policy Development: Assist in formulating and updating budgetary and accounting policies to ensure financial processes are efficient, transparent, and compliant.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Produce detailed financial reports and analysis, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and budget vs actual reports. Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to senior management on financial performance.
• Taxation & Regulatory Compliance: Provide taxation advice and prepare tax returns for individuals and organizations. Ensure all financial reports and operations comply with statutory regulations and offer assurance regarding their accuracy. Ensure compliance with ATO regulations, including the preparation and lodgement of BAS, GST, PAYG, and other tax filings.
• Strategic Financial Advisory: Offer financial and taxation advice on business structures, operational plans, and financial strategies, helping the company navigate complex financial decisions.
• Internal Control Systems: Maintain and monitor internal control systems to safeguard assets, ensure accurate financial reporting, and comply with regulations.
• Accounting Systems & Technology: Introduce, maintain, and optimize accounting systems, advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Cash Flow Analysis: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for day to day operations. Also, provide cash flow forecasts and work with the management team to optimize working capital.
• Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor performance against budget and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
• Industry-Specific Accounting Support: Utilise in-depth knowledge of the mortgage broking industry to provide accounting support and insights specific to the financial services sector.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Support the preparation of long-term financial strategies and forecasts to guide business planning.
• Assist with the development of operational budgets and provide recommendations based on financial data and trends.
• Act as a key advisor to senior management on financial strategies, ensuring sustainable growth.


Qualifications, skills and other requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Relevant registration may be preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in financial reporting, taxation, and strategic financial advisory.
• Solid understanding of accounting software (XERO)
• Proven ability to work with financial institutions and handle complex financial transactions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive financial data.
• If holding a visa; a visa with unrestricted work

• Mortgage Industry Knowledge – Familiarity with Financial Products, how does commission structure works in this industry, would be highly advantageous.
