About the role: In a Senior Project Management role you’ll use best-in-breed PM tools to help us deliver products that will change the world of fintech. In this senior role you will work with major banking clients on significant, multi-year, high value lending and capital market projects in Australia and potentially further afield.

What you will be doing:

Working closely with clients, local colleagues and the wider global team you will manage significant projects. You will:

• Manage project initiation activities including identifying contractual obligations, client needs and goals, existing situation, necessary contacts and access to existing information as needed

• Manage project risk and assist with problem resolution

• Develop, define and execute project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets and deliverables

• Plan and coordinate all aspects of technical projects from initiation through delivery.

• Ensure requirements for internal technology projects align to operational standards. Develops alternate requirements or document exceptions as appropriate.

• Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical teams

• Working with cross functional teams to delivery projects on time and to budget

• What you will need:

• Significant previous experience in a similar role ideally within Finance/Capital Markets/Lending domains

• Extensive knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines as well as various IT project methodologies and life cycles

• Advanced skills with project management software

• Strong credibility and the confidence to manage relationships with C-Suite clients and be willing to manage difficult conversations as required

• A bachelor’s in computer science, management information systems or business administration or the equivalent experience – PMP (Project Management Professional) certification may be required

As the Engineering Manager for Data Products & Business Intelligence, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare by leveraging data to improve patient outcomes. You'll be responsible for leading the development of cutting-edge data products, scaling efficient architectures, and ensuring seamless enterprise reporting. You’ll oversee sprints, manage cross-functional integration, and build a high-performing team that is passionate about making a difference. 

What You’ll Do:

• Drive Data Product Strategy: Work closely with product managers and business stakeholders to align data products with business goals and patient needs.
• Architect Scalable Solutions: Lead the design of robust, fault-tolerant architectures that can handle large datasets while meeting performance targets.
• Build & Lead a World-Class Team: Manage and mentor a team of analytics engineers and BI developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and success.
• Sprint Management: Ensure timely project delivery through effective sprint planning, task allocation, and tracking. Remove blockers to keep your team on track.
• Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business teams to ensure seamless integration of data products across platforms.
• Optimize Data Pipelines: Continuously monitor and improve data pipelines for efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Stay Ahead of Trends: Drive innovation by staying on top of trends in analytics, machine learning, and emerging technologies.
• Ensure Data Governance: Implement best practices in data governance to maintain data quality and integrity.

The key aspects of the role include:

1. Construction and Engineering Management:

• End-to-End Project Oversight: Manage design, construction and engineering aspects of multiple renewable energy projects (solar hybrid, wind and BESS) from inception to completion, ensuring they meet quality standards, design criteria, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Industry Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with contractors, technical consultants, network operators and other relevant industry stakeholders.
• Investment phase: Working with investment team to provide relevant advice on project opportunities and lead technical due diligence during M&A processes.
• Development phase: Support development of projects through project concept design, technical and constructability insights and input into construction contract tender and negotiation.
• Construction phase: Manage team of internal project managers and external construction management teams to deliver renewable energy projects safely, on time and on budget.
• Operations phase: Lead any works undertaken during DLP and general support with technical advice and input.

2. Financial Management:

• Cost Control: Build cost estimates for development and ensure cost-effective project execution while maintaining quality standards.
• Budgeting and Revenue Generation: Prepare and manage the team budget, allocating resources effectively to maximise revenue generation.

3. Team Management:

• Values Driven: Exemplify the Octopus values through active internal and external engagement.
