Jasmax in Australia
Jasmax is one of Australasia’s leading architecture and design practices, aiming to produce work that is mutually beneficial to both society and the environment. In 2022, the practice embarked on an exciting new chapter of its 60-year legacy by expanding into the Australian market and establishing a Sydney studio. With a diverse team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects and urban designers, Jasmax brings together a multi-disciplinary collective of talented professionals, who work collaboratively across four studios in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Sydney.
Located in Chippendale, Jasmax’s Sydney studio is led by Chris Rogers, a member of the practice’s diverse Principal group. Chris has successfully established a core local team and secured a steady pipeline of projects, spanning education, residential developments, and social infrastructure across New South Wales. Looking ahead, the Jasmax Sydney studio is poised for further growth, presenting a unique opportunity for a talented individual to join the senior leadership team.
We are looking to recruit an individual who aligns with the practice’s values and approach, including:
- Design leadership founded in strategic thinking
- A bold, creative, and entrepreneurial spirit backed by unique ideas across both design and business
- An ambitious mindset, centred around open and inclusive collaboration
- Authenticity in approach, fostering a positive working environment with colleagues, clients and project teams
About the role
As a senior leader, you will be a key contributor to the long-term growth trajectory of the Sydney studio, while also actively engaging in broader strategy discussions with the practice’s wider leadership team. This is an opportunity to further the professional development of the Sydney team while establishing a portfolio of repeat clients through innovative design solutions and seamless project delivery.
This role is an opportunity for you to utilise senior design expertise across sectors such as commercial, civic and community, healthcare, and tertiary education along with any well-established client relationships to generate local and trans-Tasman opportunities. This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in all stages of projects, from design right through to project delivery.
What you will bring
We are seeking an exceptional candidate with 15+ years' experience within the Australian built environment, ideally with some international experience. Passionate and fiercely determined, you are an individual with a track-record of successfully establishing and implementing business strategies.
In addition, you will have cultivated strong relationships with contractors and consultants and are well-versed in property and construction legislation. You bring strong commercial acumen and high competency in financial management. Sharing and imparting knowledge is what you enjoy doing, along with supporting others with less experience to flourish under your guidance.
