Santos 2025 Apprenticeship Intake Committed to creating jobs for the future in the local Maranoa community, Programmed in partnership with Santos, are offering apprenticeships to commence in February 2025. This could be your chance to start an exciting and rewarding career in the Energy Industry.
The Positions:
Electrical and Instrumentation Apprenticeship
Dual trade apprenticeship over 5 years
Earn a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30820) and Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control (UEE31220)
This role involves the routine maintenance of equipment including repair, fault finding and assisting with shutdown activities including the overhaul of equipment, such as gas turbines, compressors and generators.
Able to apply for an Unrestricted Electrical Contractor License upon completion of your studies.
Mechanical Apprenticeship
4-year apprenticeship
Earn a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Turning) MEM30219
This apprenticeship will provide you with a comprehensive practical and theoretical base to help you develop mechanical skills, an understanding of technical procedures, concepts and knowledge of safe working practices.
Mechanical fitters carry out repairs and maintenance to a wide range of mechanical equipment such as pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, process compressors, gas turbines and other mechanical components.
You will gain technical knowledge on hydrocarbon (natural gas) processing systems and develop trade skills. Your training will involve both on-the-job and classroom-based learning, both at local sites and registered training organisations.
To be successful you will be:
Local to Roma and surrounding towns or wanting to relocate permanently to the area
Able to work flexible hours including 12-hour shifts on a 2 week on/off roster
A team player with a willingness to actively contribute to achieving results
A high commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail and procedures
Passionate about building a career in the Energy Industry
Completed, or about to complete, Year 12 with a pass in Mathematics, English and a Science subject is highly regarded or any Vocational Education and Training
Hold or be willing to obtain a drivers license at the time of appointment.
