The Senior Data Engineer role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities. This position involves leading a cross-functional agile delivery team within the Corporate Data Engineering team, ensuring alignment with current work practices, and driving innovation. Additionally, the role contributes to the design, build, and support of the Enterprise Data Platform.

About the Role

Reporting to the Performance Manager, a full time position is now available for a Dispute Resolution Specialist to join the team based in our Melbourne, Docklands head office.

The primary purpose of this role is to support the achievement of Customer Operations key objectives through best practice complaint management to deliver sustainable resolutions to complex and escalated complaints received within the Dispute Resolution Team with a key focus on telco.

This role will require you to work directly with customers and stakeholders to resolve complex and varied complaints and issues (including working directly with external parties such as Ombudsman bodies for Energy &/or Telecommunications and distributors).

Within this role you will also be required to proactively analyse complaint trends and root cause drivers to bring the voice of customer to life with the aim of identifying and delivering initiatives to improve business efficiency, enhance customer experience, reduce customer pain points and complaint cost to serve.

Key accountabilities of this role:

• Timely and accurate resolution of Ombudsman complaints requiring investigation or internal escalated complaints. This is achieved through case management ownership, accountability for timely and high-quality investigation, negotiation and putting forward sustainable solutions. 

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with your Scheme counterparts by being the point of contact for your cases, ensuring the provision of full, detailed and quality investigation responses in agreed format, calling through to conciliators prior to case submissions to talk through the outcome of the investigation, the proposed resolution, and any further information requirements within SLAs.

• Ensuring that investigations are compliant with the Ombudsman’s expectations and regulations and guidelines set out by either the Essential Services Commission, the Australian Energy Regulator for Energy or the Australian Communications and Media Authority for Telecommunications. All upgrades should be assessed for areas of improvement and compliance and challenged or fed back to the relevant business where appropriate.

• Monitoring of ageing and upgrades to ensure work is being completed within defined SLAs, along with proactive intervention and escalation of cases that threaten to fall outside SLA to ensure that customer issues are resolved as quickly as possible.

• Proactively engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their business objectives; provide regular performance updates to and solicit regular feedback on performance.

• Where required, provide subject matter expertise and input into AGL process forums, projects, user acceptance testing processes pertaining to your process area/s of expertise, or formally represent the Dispute Resolution team in process and system review forums as nominated with delegated decision-making authority in these forums on behalf of the Dispute Resolution Team.

• Prompt escalation of distributor / wholesaler related issues and potential systemic issues to relevant functional areas. Ensuring risks and issues are flagged in the risk and issues registers.

• Management of operational change resulting from system, regulatory and process updates and notifications

Qualifications, key skills and experience required:

• Previous industry experience in Telco and complaints will be highly sought after

• High level of customer service and complaint management experience

• Ability to influence and negotiate outcomes Comprehensive written communication skills

About the Role

Reporting to the Vendor and Strategic Initiatives Manager, a newly  created position has become available on a full time basis for a Vendor Specialist to join the team in our Docklands head office.

The primary purpose of this role is to undertake analysis to seek, develop, and help implement Vendor onboarding and offboarding for the Contact Centres. They will also work with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate service provider support and related initiatives.

You will work closely with various teams and the wider Customer Service team to put a strong contractual governance for Vendors and holding them accountable including ensuring that they are delivering their KPIs/SLAs. You will work closely with Procurement and Legal for RFP process and assist your manager with legal and commercial negotiations and ensure the close coordination and ensuring the achievement of expected outcomes.

Key accountabilities of this role:

• Engage with existing Vendors, internal and external stakeholders in establishing Contractual Governance including holding vendors accountable for their contractual obligations and promises made during the RFP Stage

• Ensuring all change requests are up to date and formally documented with vendors

• Assessing the performance of vendors in line with agreed KPIs/SLAs

• Supporting leadership in running and analysis of RFPs, comparing BAFOs and creating business case to finalise the RFP recommendations

• Assisting with Negotiating contracts with suppliers

• Ensuring vendor compliance with AGL's policies and standards

• Managing vendor billing and disbursements

As the Lead Engineer – Gas and Battery Storage in the Integrated Energy Team, you'll be at the forefront of this renewable energy revolution and be responsible for leading engineers to support the battery storage assets and gas flexible generation assets.  You will be providing discipline-based asset management expertise to ensure asset risks are identified and effectively managed, compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, and the upkeep of asset plans to maximise asset performance of over asset life cycles.

What you’ll bring:

• Tertiary qualifications preferably in Electrical Engineering as well as a Chartered Professional Engineer with previous power generation experience and an understanding of the NEM and current regulatory environment preferred.

• A strong understanding of asset management principles supported by a qualification in ISO55001 is highly desired coupled with both financial and risk management.

• Experience in effective team leadership including, management skills, coaching, mentoring and strong technical leadership.

• Strong commercial acumen, business planning, change management and process improvement skills as well as analytical and conceptual skills for the effective delivery of projects and contract management.

• Proven interpersonal skills with high quality written and verbal communication skills that can be used across all levels of internal and external stakeholders.

This role aims to deliver comprehensive technology solutions for business opportunities.  The role, along with the team, blends business and technical expertise to select and design solutions that advance Integrated Energy's strategic goals.  This role would be working within an architecture group on AGL’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP), an exciting and innovative solution formed by a distributed set of connected solar batteries (and other asset types).  As part of the role, there would also be involvement in and exposure to the technology that supports AGL’s wholesale energy trading operation.

The Architecture team provides thought leadership to identify opportunities for transforming a business capability. We take a structured approach to understand business problems, identify synergies, and create a compelling case for change to invest in technology platforms to provide cost-effective, flexible, and fit-for-purpose solutions.  We combine in-depth knowledge of the energy industry – in particular Distributed Energy and Energy Trading, along with deep technical expertise in Azure cloud-native solutions.

• Designing solutions for various components within the Integrated Energy Technology landscape.

What will a day in this role look like:

• As a Principal Engineer within the team, you will be in involved in managing and delivering local and national projects throughout the whole lifecycle – from front end strategy and planning, to detailed design and delivery.

What you’ll be doing:

• Overseeing the safe and successful delivery of Energy Solutions commercial solar projects from sales proposal development to handover in line with budget, schedule, and quality specifications. 

• Overseeing the Customer interface following handover from the Business Development Manager to ensure that AGL’s Customers receive the highest level of professionalism and consistent, authentic communication, and experience an exceptional customer experience.​

• Communicating and negotiating with customers and subcontractors to agree contract terms, variations and developing professional partnerships to minimize delays and inefficiencies at their work sites. 

• Maintaining excellent communication and stakeholder management to enable close working relationships with the internal Projects Team and Approvals Coordinators, Safety Managers, external approval entities and other internal and external stakeholders and staff to successfully deliver energy solutions that meet Customer expectations.

• Managing all aspects of project close-out, including preparation of O&M manuals, completion of STC/LGC documentation, customer invoicing, documentation of lessons learned and system handover and training to the customer.

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, construction management or related discipline including demonstrated experience as a project management or project engineer.

• Experience working for a major industrial and commercial rooftop solar installation provider and knowledge of national and state regulations and guidelines in Electrical and PV industry will be highly regarded.

• Demonstrated ability to manage third party consultants, and contractors as well as attention to detail and the ability to present and communicate information clearly and accurately is essential.

• Knowledge of the software systems Energy Solutions uses to manage its business (NetSuite, Procore, and 1Breadcrumb), Construction Induction Training, Working at Heights qualifications preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to a culture of health and safety, exceptional stakeholder management capability, including customer focus.

About the Role:

As the Senior Originator, you will be responsible for leading the negotiation of both long term and short term commercial agreements for gas supply, transportation and storage products and services. Support may be required occasionally with power and environmental transactions. These transactions will align with AGL’s wholesale portfolio value and risk management objectives and contribute to our Climate Transition Action Plan. Origination combines a broad range of skills across business development, negotiation, commercial, project development, corporate finance and critical analysis of market dynamics. Transactions will involved buying and selling of commodities through both physical and derivative agreements, with deal sizes up to $2B and durations of up to 15 years.

What you’ll be doing:

• Originating transactions to manage the physical gas portfolio over the short to medium term
• Lead contract negotiations relating to gas supplies, gas transportation, storage products and various other services
• Managing relationships with major gas producers, haulage / storage operators and market operators
• Providing guidance to other teams within Integrated Energy, Trading and Treasury Risk, Corporate Development and Finance in relation to origination activities, including influencing and collaborating across business units
• Lead complex and bespoke negotiations, document transactions and implementation of commercial arrangements across sale, supply, transport and LNG import (if required). Typical transactions will range from $30m to $1B.
• Develop business cases to support transactions with the support of the analytical team
• Managing supply agreements existing in the portfolio, including establishing processes to enforce contract specifications and resolve conflict where breaches or non-compliance occur.
• Utilise your working knowledge of the industry and provide assessments of future gas supply options and their benefit to the gas portfolio
• Support may be required occasionally with power and carbon transactions.

About You:

You will ideally have an existing network of strong relationships and a deep understanding of the gas markets and contracting arrangements through your extensive experience in the commercial gas sector.

What you’ll bring to the table:

• Tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, Engineering or another quantitative discipline
• Experience leading large complex negotiations in the gas, LNG and project development
• The ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships at all levels
• Experience developing strategies to balance risk and return and reduce procurement costs
• The ability to understand complex analytical concepts
• Advanced communication, interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
• Advanced knowledge and experience in the energy and wholesale gas market and risk management
• Extensive negotiation, contract development and contract management experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Business Energy Solution space for a Senior Finance Analyst, to be based in our Sydney or Melbourne office.

About the Role:

The Senior Finance Analyst role is instrumental in the build-up of the Budget, Forecast and Plan as well as ensuring all month end, half year and full year accounting and financial reporting requirements are delivered on time with a high standard.

This role will report on financial performance and results, providing analysis on drivers of variances. They will also have a thorough understanding of the business unit(s) they support and they will assist with financial analysis to provoke change and improve the overall performance of the business unit(s).

What you’ll be doing: 

• Provide excellent support to key stakeholders, establishing and maintaining effective relationships, gaining their trust and respect

• Perform the build up and upload of Budget, Forecast and Plan

• Undertake all month end, half year and full year accounting and financial reporting requirements

• Analyse, interpret and correct anomalies across Gross Margin, OPEX and D&A as well as investigate and report on key variances

• Manage progress of capital projects and expenditure

• Provide advice on accounting treatment for various transactions in the business unit(s)

• Provide input into the Board and Management accounts

• Perform other ad hoc requirements upon request in an accurate, efficient and timely manner

What you’ll bring to the table: 

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related business discipline.

• CA/CPA qualifications

• Relevant practical experience in an accounting level role in similar or related businesses.

• Previous experience in gross margin build up and a thorough understanding of working capital and project accounting

• Proven business partnering and influencing skills

• Applied skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

• Advanced knowledge and application of an integrated IT financial system, such as SAP.

• Demonstrated superior analytical and conceptual skills.

• Proven experience in handling multiple responsibilities and meeting strict deadlines.
