About the Role
Role & Team Overview
This role aims to deliver comprehensive technology solutions for business opportunities. The role, along with the team, blends business and technical expertise to select and design solutions that advance Integrated Energy's strategic goals. This role would be working within an architecture group on AGL’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP), an exciting and innovative solution formed by a distributed set of connected solar batteries (and other asset types). As part of the role, there would also be involvement in and exposure to the technology that supports AGL’s wholesale energy trading operation.
The Architecture team provides thought leadership to identify opportunities for transforming a business capability. We take a structured approach to understand business problems, identify synergies, and create a compelling case for change to invest in technology platforms to provide cost-effective, flexible, and fit-for-purpose solutions. We combine in-depth knowledge of the energy industry – in particular Distributed Energy and Energy Trading, along with deep technical expertise in Azure cloud-native solutions.
What you’ll be doing
Designing solutions for various components within the Integrated Energy Technology landscape.
Ensuring high-quality delivery of solutions for expected business outcomes.
Implementing solutions correctly and effectively, setting standards and reviewing designs.
Assessing estimates and solutions from partners and third parties.
Aligning solutions with business strategy and best practices.
Contributing to architecture forums and developing standards.
Driving continuous improvement and suggesting enhancements.
About you
Proven expertise in solution design and architecture.
Desirable experience in Wholesale Energy Trading solutions and/or Distributed Energy Resources.
Demonstrated success in designing and implementing high-quality enterprise solutions.
Advanced proficiency in MS Azure, encompassing system integration, APIs, and data, with a profound understanding of their enterprise-wide implementation and their role in enhancing delivery efficiency and customer outcomes.
Highly desirable familiarity and experience with Azure Data Explorer.
Proficiency in modern software development practices, including microservices and continuous delivery.
