Job Purpose:

The role will include the following responsibilities:

• Work closely with software engineers to understand software requirements, specifications and control methods.

Requirements for the role

The ideal candidate will bring a suite of skills, including:

Mandatory skills
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field.

Job Purpose:

Role Purpose                                                                                   

As a Systems Engineer you will be instrumental in the capture of customer, regulatory, internal Applied EV inputs, and translating into technical specifications and high-level designs. You will support the cascading of requirements into the domain engineering teams. Working closely with the Integration & Test teams you will ensure the defined requirements have supporting test cases which are traceable.

The Systems Engineer plays a critical part in translating technical specifications into potential architectural solutions, assessing the technical choices to ensure the best trade-off between requirement, schedule, risk and cost are achieved.

The Systems Engineer understands and practices a Systems Engineering approach and has an ability to decompose complexity using different levels of abstraction and expression.

The Systems Engineer will support the Functional Safety team to achieve the defined safety goals of the products under development.

The Systems Engineer is required to be an articulate technical communicator with experience interfacing between management, customers, suppliers and domain engineering teams.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Capture and elaboration of system level requirements for the Blanc Robot and Digital Backbone which can be cascaded down to engineering teams to enable product development.
• Working closely with the Verification and Testing team to ensure System Requirements are defined in such a way that they are testable.
• Interfacing with domain engineering teams to ensure that the system definition is translated into lower-level work products consistent with higher level specifications and use cases.
• Develop Interface Control Documents to facilitate the correct integration of independently developed components into the overall system.
• Develop System Architecture Design documents and models to communicate the high-level design and design justifications to the domain engineering teams. Document design elaboration including behavioural aspects (sequence diagrams) in the System Architecture Design (SAD)
• Deliver work products in line with the program schedule, highlighting deficiencies and associated risk to program execution. Ensure that identified risks are communicated in an appropriate forum and that a champion is assigned to establish countermeasures.
• Undertake reviews with domain engineering teams to ensure Software, Electrical and Mechanical requirements align with the System level requirements.
• Undertake reviews with domain engineering teams to ensure Software, Electrical and Mechanical architecture design is compatible with the overall system architecture.
• Utilise the relevant toolchains to develop, release and control System Requirements and Architecture artefacts.
• Lead resolution of system architecture issues raised by domain engineering teams. Ensure issues are appropriately tracked in the relevant toolchain, and where required (based on program status) create an Engineering Change Request for architecture evolutions.
• Leverage organisational knowledge and SMEs to optimise/accelerate System Architecture definition.

• An Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in a System Engineering role involving software, electrical and/or mechanical engineering domains.

• Make use of model-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, processor-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, unit test and related test methodologies.
• Design manual and automated test procedures to evaluate each software product, including validation & verification testing, and writing documentation.
• Build, code, and implement software evaluation test programs.
• Run test programs to ensure that testing protocols evaluate the software correctly.
• Review and adjust the software testing systems for maximum performance.
• Complete final release tests and create related test reports.
• Present test reports to management and suggest software fixes.

The ideal candidate will bring a suite of skills, including:

 Mandatory skills

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field.
• TUV recognised qualifications in Functional Safety
• Demonstrated experience in test execution in a HiL environment. 
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of software design, with the ability to design and write complex software testing procedures.
• Exposure to, or experience with the following programming scripts: Python, Matlab, Simscape, C or C++ programming Simulink
• High level multi-lingual communications and fluency in written and verbal English and Hungarian.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in embedded software development or a software testing environment.
• Working knowledge of analysis, development and testing of CAN bus communications, including but not limited to the following tools: Vector VNx, VTx modules, Vector CANoe, Vector CANape, PeakCAN
• Proven software testing experience (unit testing, regression testing, functional testing)
• Diligent software troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced knowledge of debugging code and/or model-based software features.
• Experience working with popular operating systems including Windows and Linux.
• Outstanding attention to detail.
• Ability to collate data and compile test reports.
• Ability to be a key member of a high performing team;
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment dealing with complex and multiple tasks;
• Ability to analyse problems and come up with innovative solutions;
• Ability to be adaptable and flexible to business needs;
