Context of the Role:

The Customer Service Manager’s (CSM) role is a management position. The position is not involved in day-to-day contact with clients. This is undertaken by the Operational Controller, team supervisors and their respective team members. Only when the officers serving customers cannot resolve matters within set policies and procedures, it is escalated to the CSM who would then provide guidance, at arm’s length, to the Operations Controller, team supervisors and their respective team members to deal with unusual issues.

Main Duties:

*Work as a member of the management team to ensure the effective and efficient management and operation of services to customers - in accordance with the values and strategic direction of the business
*Develop and maintain relationships with key stake holders – at arm’s length, including private and business clients
*Develop, implement & administer effective customer service policies, procedures and guidelines
*Lead, manage and develop customer service staff (not operational staff) to be responsive to customers’ needs
*Oversee the responses of staff to incoming calls from customers and ensure that customers are being provided with accurate information
*Establish and implement a risk management system
*Assist with recruitment and induction of employees/subcontractors with a focus on customer service
