The Principal Technical Programs Advisor – Propulsion Systems will bring their knowledge, skills and experience from solid rocket motor design, development, facilities, manufacturing and Project Management to bear in supporting Thales Australia’s emerging design, test & evaluation, facilities and industrialisation programs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical advice, programmatic and supervision to leadership, bids, project and production teams on military solid rocket motor propulsion systems design, development, project management and manufacturing.
- Monitor, advise and influence the engineering and project management environment (process, practices and tools) consistent with the applicable rules, and particular necessities of propulsion systems program and bid needs.
- Contribute as a leader within the of the Guided, Space & Hypersonics team to influence decisions, improve performance, operate safely and sustainably, and effectively manage risk in bids, projects and production activities.
- Act as Product Design Authority or Project Design Authority or Project Manager for relevant propulsion related projects or products.
- Lead technical and skills development of engineering and program staff at all levels to deliver sustainable uplift in technology and industrial competency and capability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, solve complex challenges, and ensure the highest level of propulsion performance and meeting requirements of defence applications
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualified in Aerospace Engineering, or other suitable discipline Extensive experience in solid rocket motor propulsion designing, analysis and testing
- Proven track record of successful project leadership and technical advisory roles
- Proven and effective leadership skills
- High level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams
