The IT Change and Release Manager will be responsible for leading the assessment, analysis, documentation, and implementation of changes based on requests for change for IT Services that include infrastructure and application services.
The role will develop and implement change management practices to ensure that there are minimal disruptions and that operations are maintained across clients’ accounts and improved to meet customer requirements.
The role requires the assessment and analysis of change components, change scheduling and the adoption of appropriate controls. Additionally, the role will also coordinate communication with stakeholders, project teams and customers stakeholders regarding changes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the validation of incoming Requests for Change (RFC) and provide assurance over all stages of the unified Change Management Process and sub-processes, including the completion of impact analysis and change evaluation processes to ensure activities are in accordance with defined processes. This includes being available to manage the review, evaluation, and approval of Urgent or Emergency changes.
- Coordination of patch management, release, and deployment activities.
- Oversee and co-ordinate all activities within the clients change process across all IT Services, monitor changes through all stages of the change lifecycle, working collaboratively with client change managers or stakeholders involved to exchange information and drive change management outcomes.
- Plan, schedule, and maintain the forward change schedule, confirm that all changes have been successfully implemented, patch management and any required Post Change Reviews (PCRs) are carried out for failed changes.
- Manage communications to all affected groups for Change Management.
- Negotiate and agree standard classification (prioritization and categorization) for changes, facilitate the process and manage change management procedures and policies to ensure alignment with the clients Change Management process.
- Provide assurance over change requests, attend any client Change Advisory Boards. Provide guidance and approvals for major changes or releases to be approved.
- Create and maintain the Change Management process documents (flow charts, roles and responsibilities, knowledge articles etc.) to be used by the Change Management team and 3rd party suppliers. Analyze and identify improvements and encourage the development and implementation of “pre-approved changes” to streamline regular, repeatable low risk changes.
- Proactively identify and escalate potential risks. Contribute to the development of risk management plans, establishment of risk controls and performance of risk mitigation activities.
- Qualifications in IT, business administration, commerce, change management is desirable.
- ITIL certification or relevant years of experience as a Change Manager.
- Previous experience in ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) projects and environments and knowledge of ITS systems, equipment and roadside/tunnel devices is a plus.
