SICE ANZ is currently embarking on exciting growth and we have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, versatile and results-oriented Engineering Manager to join our team in Sydney.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Offer expertise in integration strategy and contribute to effective project execution, including the management of project-specific activities such as tunnel closures.
  • Develop and support commissioning strategies for various projects as required.
  • Evaluate and contribute to integration strategies across various projects as required.
  •  Define and establish the SICE “Way of Working” when it comes to aligning technical solutions among projects, ensuring well defined and consistent engineering processes within and across projects (e.g.: requirement analysis and traceability, definition of work breakdown structures, design content/phases/COTS, approach to implementation, testing and commissioning), overseeing the selection of tools for projects, such as requirement traceability tools, testing tools, defect management tools, etc., and supporting the establishment and tracking of the above “Way of Working” in all new projects.
  • Work closely with local and off-shore SICE’s product team to define, validate and agree required improvements, new functionalities, architecture changes, etc. to conform our product roadmap for Australia.
  • Conduct regular audits of technical processes and solutions
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for all matters outside project technical issues, including presenting roadmaps and discussing potential new functionalities.
  • Propose enhancements to existing clients.
  • Support the Business Development team in tenders as required.

The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or equivalent experience
  • Over 5 years’ of relevant experience in similar engineering management roles, ideally within similar ITS/Tunnels/SCADA projects
  • Relevant experience in technical project management, testing and commissioning management within the ITS industry
  • Strong knowledge and expertise of engineering processes, tools, and technical solutions within the ITS industry.
  • PLC/SCADA architecture knowledge
  • Advanced level of use of MS Office tools
  • Strong knowledge of testing tools
  • Good knowledge and understanding of software development processes and methodologies
  • Excellent ability to adjust to new environments and situations
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as autonomously in an efficient manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
