About the team:
Be part of a multidisciplinary Territory wide team creating positive change and strengthening the link between wellbeing, inclusion and engagement to support our kids.
Work with allied health and special education professionals in a Multi-tiered System of Support framework to build the capacity of educators to support students to maximise their educational outcomes.
About the role:
School Counsellors provide support to schools to improve the wellbeing and safety of students through evidence-based interventions. Consultation, planning, and short-term case work/counselling are provided to support student behaviour, wellbeing and social emotional concerns that may be having a direct impact on educational outcomes.
Various positions are available and will be based in the Darwin office, Palmerston office, Katherine office, Nhulunbuy Education office and Alice Springs. These positions include both ongoing and fixed term opportunities.
To be successful you will need a degree in social work and eligibility as a social worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), OR a degree in psychology and registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Corporate-based conditions apply to this position. The applicant must hold or be able to obtain a Working with Children Notice Clearance and an NT driver’s licence. Visits to remote schools may necessitate travel by four-wheel drive vehicle on unsealed roads or light aircraft and include overnight stays in remote communities of up to four days. Four-wheel drive training will be provided by the NT Department of Education.
