The role is responsible for leading Subject Matter Experts under an experienced leader to facilitate operational outcomes and alignment with SIAM processes.

Primary Responsibilities

You will also have: 

• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities in collaborative environments with a focus on simplification. 

• High-level written and oral communication skills and excellent organisational skills. 

• Prior experience and knowledge in the transformation of large-scale systems-of-systems mission environments is essential. 

• Chartered or Executive Engineer status with Engineers Australia. 

• RAN engineering charge qualification or similar from the RAAF (Squadron Leader AERO or ELECTR minimum) or ARA (Major in Signals or RAEME minimum or ATSOC graduate). 

• A thorough understanding and working knowledge of systems of systems architectures, model based systems engineering, ASDEFCON, data architectures and vendor ecosystems and their strengths, weaknesses and specific points of leverage. 

• The ability to create and maintain architectural documentation (i.e. master plans, roadmaps, architectures, business cases) describing logical pathways and approaches now and into the future for sponsored areas.  These should be adaptable and abstracted where appropriate to meet disparate audience interests. 

• Experience with relevant legacy, governance, security, mission, data, funding and/or operational constraints etc. 

• Experience effecting global knowledge transfer in the context of local operations, mission and intelligence contexts 

• Extensive knowledge of current and trending mission/data/information technologies and approaches

Your New Role 

As a Cyber Security Risk Analyst Lead, you will be responsible for conducting proactive risk management activities including the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive risk assessments, discovery and analysis, as well as tracking and reporting. This is an interesting role with broad responsibilities and scope that will allow you to test and hone your skills, whilst contributing to National Security, your responsibilities will include the following; 

• Lead and undertake the timely delivery of cyber security risk analysis and advisory services to stakeholders and the broader team. 
• Prioritisation and presentation of identified risks and recommendations at the relevant forums. 
• Proactive maintenance of the risk register and tracking of risk response progress. 
• Ongoing oversight, measuring, and monitoring of security risk across multiple complex environments. 
• Evaluation of the effectiveness of security controls against the Australian Government ISM, Essential 8, NIST, other approved cyber security frameworks, and standard designs. 
• Development and submission of high-quality artefacts including risk assessments and reports. 
• Practical application of cyber security governance, risk, and compliance principles and frameworks. 
• Continuous improvement of risk management processes and service delivery. 
• Mentoring of staff. 
• Security and compliance auditing. 
• Documentation and record management.

The Senior Security Operations Lead role will be responsible for coordinating a 24x7 security operations capability, ensuring that our analysts are continuously developing professionally, enabled and engaged in their mission to proactively monitor our networks for threats.

This is a business hours based role that covers co-ordination of handovers between shifts, provides a technical escalation point and most importantly trains and mentors a team of enthusiastic analysts who are eager to learn and grow.

• Curating a suite of playbooks and documentation to capture processes and procedures
• Driving improvements to our capability through development of our monitoring tools including such artefacts as dashboards, rule creation and tuning, and custom SOAR components.
• Coordinating workflows through the maintenance and curation of ticketing queues for security operations
• Contributing to reporting on System Health Indicators for our environments and Key Performance Indicators for the delivery of our service
