We have an outstanding opportunity to join our Front Office team as a Duty Manager! 

The role reports directly to the Front Office Manager and to the Director of Operations your primary responsibility is ensuring a high level of guest service at all times across the hotel.

As Duty Manager, your tasks and responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with the management of all operational departments as required
• Management of roster, costings and forecasting
• Professional development of Guest Service Agents to ensure strong succession planning
• Involvement in and management of setting KPI's for Front Office & guest satisfaction
• Process and assist with check-in, check-out of guests, ensuring all procedures are adhered too.
• Assist in all areas of the hotel to eliminate potential issues including Food & Beverage operations
• Immediately attending to guest requests, and leading by example to other members of the team by being proactive and resourceful.
• Responsibility for the health and safety of all patrons, guests and staff members.
• Overseeing of whole guest experience from Reservation through to departure.
• You are naturally a confident person who is able to approach people and initiate conversation.
• You are able to manage your time and can handle juggling numerous tasks at once and have experience. 

We are currently seeking a full time Reservations Manager to lead our fantastic reservations team. Reporting directly to our Commercial Director, this role will see you ensuring that the correct procedures are used in receiving, processing and confirming hotel reservations, working closely with our Director of Revenue in ensuring maximum yield.

Particular responsibilities will include: 

• Lead and support the reservations team, providing guidance and resolving queries.
• Respond promptly to reservation requests, ensuring accurate recording in the system.
• Maintain the Opera Reservations system, updating rates, availability, and mail messages.
• Review no-shows and provide follow-up details to the Assistant Manager.
• Ensure all reservations are up to date in the Property Management System (PMS).
• Verify regular client reservations for accuracy and quick check-ins.
• Monitor occupancy, apply stop-sell in PMS when needed, and inform relevant departments.
• Manage group reservations, ensuring accuracy in rooming lists and special requests.
• Reconfirm arrivals and pass necessary information to the Front Desk.
• Maintain and update guest history, sharing insights with management.
• Anticipate busy periods, manage allotments, and ensure proper utilization.
• Apply yield management practices and participate in monthly strategy meetings.
• Verify rate manuals and ensure accuracy of rates in the system.
• Collaborate with sales to forward leads and provide feedback on corporate markets.
• Ensure open communication between Front Office and Reservations teams.
• Complete daily tasks such as filing, correspondence, and reporting.
• Adhere to Emergency Communication protocols for media inquiries.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

About the Role of Guest Services Manager:

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Rooms, this role is responsible for Guest Services, comprising of the Bell and Driveway operation, and supporting the success of the Rooms Division team.

The role balances the critical importance of strategic leadership with the day to day management of the Guest Services operation, by developing and engaging the team, monitoring standards, problem solving and delivering results for the business, from a people, product and profit perspective. To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will have an exceptional eye for detail, a thirst for multi-tasking and a hunger for results, by cultivating a constructive, collaborative and performance driven team culture.



What you will do:

- Set strategic and operational direction in collaboration with the leadership team
- Provide leadership, coaching and constructive feedback, setting development plans and succession planning strategies for Guest Services team members
- Ensure effective selection, training, development, and evaluation of all team members
- Drive performance, by setting metrics and benchmarks, identifying ways to improve how we do things
- Develop strong relationships with the leadership team and employees within Rooms Division
- Maintain a visibility in the operation at key times, giving recognition to our regular guests and cultivating relationships with VIP, long stay and new guests to the hotel
- Closely manage labour and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions and inventory control
- Complete projects and activities by working collaboratively or independently in response to business needs and opportunities or proactively to maximise our success


What you will bring:

- Prior experience in a leadership role within Rooms Division in a 5* hotel that focuses on service quality whilst operating a large inventory and occupancy.
- A leadership style that is authentic, engaging and strategic, based on identified business priorities and capable of coaching and driving direct reports to achieve success
- A positive, can-do attitude that shows resilience and maturity, adapting to different situations
- Impeccable communication skills
- Understanding of luxury components, with a sharp attention to detail and high focus on service
- Ability to prioritise, organise, problem solve and delegate in a demanding environment over a period of change
- Tertiary Qualifications in hotel and business management highly regarded

The annual gross salary is $84,000 plus super.

What you’ll bring 

• Previously managed or held an extensive senior role in a holiday park, resort, or similar tourism related role. 
• You will have experienced working in an environment where initiative, organisational and advance planning skills are essential. 
• Previous experience in managing properties with a Food & Beverage outlet will be highly regarded.
• You will demonstrate a flexible attitude to work and the passion to work as part of an operational team who are hands on, confident and have a passion for delivering outstanding guest relations.
• You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have proven evidence of successful financial and strategic management and ability.
• You are a hands-on leader; you walk the talk and can communicate to and manage staff at all levels.
