Programmed, in partnership with City of Casey are seeking highly motivated individuals seeking a long-term career within the horticulture industry. Completing a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management will see you as a qualified specialist greenskeeper. Work within a team to assist council in preparing the precinct for training and matches for the Melbourne City Football Club, associated with the elite A and W-League competitions.
Greenkeepers are responsible for preparing surfaces for play. The work ranges from monitoring, maintaining, and developing public open spaces, sports grounds, parks, gardens, and streetscapes within the council zoned area.
Casey Fields is an 88-hectare site in Cranbourne East developed by the City of Casey as the premier outdoor sports facility in Melbourne's south- east with its sporting ovals, playground, and wide-open spaces. The major community facility is also home to several elite sporting clubs from different sporting codes.
Work within a team to assist council in preparing the pitches for training and matches for Melbourne City Football Club precinct, associated with the elite A and W-League competitions.

As an apprentice you will be:
Committed to safety
Have a genuine interest in gardening/horticulture
Hold a driver's licence
Willing to learn and able to take instruction
Physically fit
Duties may involve but are not limited to:
Operate machinery and equipment
Provide information on plants and their culture
Control weeds, plant pests, diseases and disorders
Renovate, construct and maintain sports turf
Implement soil improvements for garden and turf areas
Install and operate drainage and irrigation systems
