Our Airspace Mobility Solutions team creates, develops and deploys air traffic management systems that are critical for safe aircraft movement. With products covering 40% of the world’s airspace, we enable the safe take-off and landing of 2 in 3 aircrafts globally.

Your Role

Working from our Melbourne office in the World Trade Centre on Wurundjeri land you will work as part of a team to deliver a first of its kind air traffic management project.

THE ROLE

Exciting career opportunity for a technically strong Level 1 / Level 1.5 Service Desk Engineer looking to take the next step in their career as a IT Technical Support Lead to train and develop our growing team. To be successful in this role you will be someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional support to our customers whilst overseeing the day-to-day operations of our high-performing L1 Support Team. The role will start as a full-time in-office position and after 3 months, can take one work day from home.

3. Technical Leadership

• Provide mentoring, feedback and direction to the team whilst demonstrating strong technical proficiency.

• Minimum 5 years’ professional work experience

• Minimum 5 years’ IT industry experience

The Role

The position of the Network Strategy Manager – Fleet is responsible for leading the development of strategic plans and delivery roadmaps for TGE Fleet operations and broader TGE Network operational strategies.

This role will drive the strategy and capital planning processes to ensure that the fleet is standardised, working optimally, maximising organisational efficiencies and service performance.
 

Beyond Fleet strategy, this position will be required lead on the design and delivery of operational transformation projects and capability to execute the broader network operations strategy.  A key responsibility of this role is to maximise network standardisation and optimisation to deliver improvement in network performance, while ensuring the Network is ready to meet the future needs of the business and the customers we serve.
 

Exercising excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills across Functional and Divisional operational teams within the TGE network, this position is pivotal to enabling long term operational readiness, driving operational efficiencies and customer service delivery outcomes.
 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead a small team to develop and deliver the overall network fleet strategy for operations, including the development and implementation of a long term plan, in line with customer requirements and broader TGE network development strategy (network, fleet, site).

• Strategic development of the fleet model and associated capital planning processes, ensuring the fleet model it is aligned to the organisational objectives, meet the future needs of the business and the markets it serves.

• Develop fleet and other network design blueprints and project plans to ensure Network standardisation objectives are met.

• Conduct network capacity modelling on a rolling 3 – 5 year timeframe, actively managing the Network Footprint and associated Fleet strategy and Assets to support growth and efficiency

• Coordinate with divisional operations managers on supply forecast inputs, identifying service risks and opportunities (latent capacity)

• Prepare Strategy and capital planning presentation content for operations & communication.

• Support operations team education on Network capability, including transformation project scopes and deliverables, developing fit for purpose tools (process & systems)

• Own, govern and maintain the data integrity of all key design inputs to the Network strategy Fleet plan and broader Network strategy as required.

• In conjunction with the NOC Planning team, conduct scenario analysis for the supply plan and re-forecasting as required to facilitate operational decision-making and identification of transformation project priorities

• Work in a manner that is not harmful to one’s own health and safety and the health and safety of others

You'll join our integrations squad as a Software Engineer, playing an important role to continue building key integrations for our customers. You'll work closely with senior engineers on building best practices across the team to ensure we continue to build seamless integrations across our multiple product suites and third-party integrations.

This role has a direct business and customer impact, ensuring every customer can seamlessly interact with our entire product suite. You are someone who is passionate about building greenfield projects, enjoys discovery work and thrives on collaborative working, across multiple business groups. • Experience in managing complex releases to multiple environments in the cloud

Key areas you'll contribute
Strategic Advisory Role:

• Serve as a trusted advisor and technical expert on Data products.

Operations Management and Escalations:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As an accomplished Principal Software Engineer within our dynamic Platform Engineering team, you bring a wealth of experience in software development and a mastery of engineering practices spanning the entire software product life-cycle. Main Responsibilities:

- Internal Developer Platform (IDP)

•   Evaluate and architect IDP solutions, providing automation support throughout the product lifecycle, including interfacing with existing tools.

•  Lead the evolution of IDP in collaboration with the Product Owner (PO).

•  Continuously design and refine IDP to streamline our SAFe release train.

- IDP Integrations

• Integrate IDP with infrastructure management tools, ensuring efficient control over infrastructure provisioning, upgrades, and recovery using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and other relevant technologies.

• Lead the integration between IDP and the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipeline, encompassing source code repository automation, centralized and aggregated solution-level CICD, and governance of CICD practices to eliminate frictions.

• Lead integrations between IDP and the Test Automation framework (Touchstone).

• Lead integration efforts between IDP and Operation Automation, ensuring automated commissioning, monitoring, alerting, and recovery beyond service deployment in the CICD pipeline.

- Piloting and Enabling

• Continuously explore new tools and technologies for application development teams.

• Empower application development teams post Proof of Concept (POC) of new tools or technologies through training and guidance, enabling them to efficiently acquire the necessary skills for future work.

• Collaborate with feature teams on internal application architecture to ensure seamless integration with the overall platform. 

- Team growth

• Mentor junior team members in design and development skills.

• Supervise juniors to ensure proper and timely completion of tasks.

Relevant Work Experience:

• Software Development: 10+ years of professional software development experience

• Software Architecture: Architect, design, and develop sophisticated software solutions.

• Extensive expertise in designing and constructing microservices-based and distributed software architectures.

• Code debugging & troubleshooting :Proficient in advanced code debugging and troubleshooting skills, enabling the diagnosis of issues in code structure and platform architecture.

• System and Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with databases, including MySQL, Mongo, and Elasticsearch.

• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP protocols for understanding data transmission over networks.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms like AWS, Azure.

• Excellent scripting skills in scripting languages.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
