This position helps develop and implement multi-channel mandatory communications (cover letters, policy documentation, forms and policy schedules) to keep customers informed about their policy details throughout their lifecycle. The role works with the Customer Correspondence team and business stakeholders (Product, Legal, Compliance etc) to write and implement clear and concise mandatory communications and collateral, ensuring TAL meets our regulatory and compliance requirements.

The IT Service Desk provides first-level IT support for Metro and satellite sites for internal staff. The Service Desk team is required to attend to IT support and service requests in a time constrained environment and are responsible for the management of the life cycle of support calls resolved by IT Support.

Where applicable the team must strive to meet SLA targets. The team is required to analyze support calls with the goal of reducing the volume of support calls via proactive mitigation and coaching of internal staff. Each team member must aim to develop an understanding of the technologies used within Nine and keep abreast of new procedures and technology. Where possible they are also expected to make recommendations for improvements with regards to workflow and procedural improvements.

Salary for this role is $51,700.00 + Super

Responsibilities:

• Receive, record and resolve IT infrastructure problems to support productivity
• Provide timely & effective support for all IT systems
• Monitor and escalate calls to ensure resolution to agreed SLA
• Ensure effective, regular and timely communication is provided to all stakeholders
• Respond to and resolve IT incidents to support staff productivity
• Build customer relationships.
• Contribute to the education of customers and other members of the support team.
• Effectively manage incoming queues to ensure incidents and requests are actioned within an appropriate time frame.
•  Assist to maintain the Standard Operating Environment and ensure it is applied to all desktop platforms.
• Develop and maintain documentation and procedures.
• Continuously improve knowledge of the Fairfax environment and effectively share knowledge with the team.

About the Role (your why)

Due to continued growth within our team, we have a newly created role in the Sydney area. Working as a Desktop Support Engineer you will be responsible for the provision of all aspects of End User Services to Datacom’s customers. Aligned to our customers business requirements, we provide tailored maintenance services, hardware and software break/ fix support, remote support, software deployment and relocation services.

This role will be based on-site in Sydney. Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident, no visa sponsorships provided.

Please note that this current opportunity is for a 12-month, full time fixed-term contract.

What you’ll do

At the moment, as Desktop Support Engineer you will be focused on:

• Providing excellent technical support in a high-paced environment where customer satisfaction is paramount.
• Assisting new users with their IT hardware collection and setup.
• Ensuring new equipment, such as Laptops and Mobile phones, are up to date and deployment ready prior to release to customers
• Recording all customer contacts in the appropriate ITSM tool
• Keeping commitments to customers with regard to progress updates
• Using tools and processes to deliver services to customers in accordance with SLAs
• Proactively manage and maintain customer infrastructure as directed
• Initiate and drive service and process improvement

What you’ll bring

Required experience:

• Exceptional customer experience with regard to end user services
• The ability to prioritise work to ensure achievement of all service level agreements
• Sound knowledge of Laptops, Desktop PC's, printers, media and audio-visual equipment, BYOD and mobility

Nice to have:

• You will bring excellent verbal and written communication and have the ability to articulate technical information to the target audience. Your professional customer service will be second to none, and you will have the ability to work autonomously with excellent time management.
