This pivotal role provides high-level administrative support to VPO NSW & ACT – Premium, Midscale & Economy and Regional Executive Team:

Creative Ops Managers drive the entire process from concept thorough delivery partnering with cross-functional teams to tackle business challenges for our customers. The creative ops/production team is responsible for uniting the team, delivering the best work, and problem solving solutions.

We are looking for an Australia based Creative Ops Manager who will lead Afterpay International projects/productions within our brand studio team, from brief intake to delivery. Our Afterpay brand studio team collaborates and manages the creative process for marketing, sales, and product teams working on various projects from campaigns, digital, experiential, and more.

The ideal person must have expertise in project management and integrated production. Essentially, we are seeking a versatile individual, a swiss army knife—a hybrid role combining program manager and producer responsibilities - someone who enjoys operations, project management, and production equally, valuing all three aspects with equal importance.

This role will report to the Head of Creative Production (NY based) and work closely with our Head of Creative (Sydney based).

You will:

• Lead brand projects / programs, assuming responsibility for day-to-day management of the creative process (brief to deliver) and stakeholder involvement.
• Work closely with creative and cross-functional teams to scope projects and build production approaches from briefs
• Track project / program projects, maintenance, budget, timelines, communication of status, and ensuring efficient workflows
• Onboarding new agencies, vendors, and freelancers while owning relationships.
• Organize and lead project meetings, including developing agendas and capturing action items
• Manage creative feedback and revisions to ensure project is on scope
• Help develop process improvements for content production, setting up for future growth
• Mitigate risk and be proactive on any potential project / program problems
• Ensure the highest creative standards are achieved and on brand
• Collaborate with business affairs and legal on large projects for legal sign-off
• Be a brand champion and find moments of celebration for the team

What you’d be doing in this role

We are looking for a Design Operation Lead who will help support Canva’s International team comprised of all our locale teams globally.

Sitting in the Design Operations specialty of the Content Creative group, effective project management and well-rounded communication skills are key expectations of this role. The ability to navigate complexity, turning chaos into clarity, will need to be exemplified through project plans, roadmaps, and regular team cadences. Engaging with stakeholders, vendors, & team members form part of this role & will be vital in enabling the team to achieve its goals.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

• Manage the operational structures & processes to ensure we are considering international production holistically
• Strategise across all available production levers to deliver on goals with the most efficient, effective resources
  
  Foster Collaboration and alignment:
• Ensure team-wide alignment and operational excellence by partnering with international leadership team (Design Lead and Strategy Lead) and fostering collaboration with other Canva teams.
• Initiate operational ideas to enhance team efficiency, exploring new ways of working, platforms, and team structures.
  
  Campaign oversight and ownership:
• Oversee day-to-day running of international content campaigns in collaboration with the regional project managers and creative teams.
• Provide oversight and forecasting for resources, ensuring the team is prepared for success and scalability.
• Strategically manage budgets (alongside Strategy Lead), recommend production streams aligned with creative requirements, and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure our output is of the highest value.
• Communicate blockers, resourcing needs, and trade-offs with stakeholders as needed
  
  Leadership on Priority Projects & Initiatives:
• Take ownership of planning, resourcing, and delivery for unexpected, urgent, or complex requirements, coordinating with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with and support other operations team members, ensuring they deliver an exceptional Design Ops experience
  
  Tooling
• Experience with Monday.com and proficient with Google Sheets

You're probably a match if

• You have 10 + years of experience in a project management, design operations or account management role with experience managing multiple complex projects at once
• Proven track record of managing people and running large teams effectively
• Strong working knowledge of the creative process and superb organization skills, seeing projects through from planning to reporting
• You communicate with a focus on a unified mission, balancing immediate needs with long-term strategy for Canva's sustained success.
• Bonus points for experience in managing international teams or localization. Additional advantage if experienced in working remotely, across time-zones, locales, and languages.
• Advertising agency experience is ideal
