Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies, prepare financial statements, and provide financial and taxation advice. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to liaise with stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Development and Compliance:
Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and governing bodies.
Maintain internal control systems to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare financial statements for boards of directors, management, shareholders, and statutory bodies.
Provide assurance on the accuracy and compliance of financial reports.
Examine operating costs, income, and expenditure to provide actionable insights.
Advisory and Investigative Services:
Conduct financial investigations and prepare comprehensive reports.
Advise on business matters such as mergers, acquisitions, capital financing, and suspected fraud.
Evaluate cash flow and financial risks of capital investment projects.
Taxation and Compliance:
Prepare taxation returns for individuals and organizations.
Provide financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans, and operations.
Systems and Processes:
Introduce and maintain accounting systems.
Advise on the selection and implementation of computer-based accounting systems.
Financial Management:
Appraise cash flow and ensure effective funds management arrangements.
Liaise with financial institutions and brokers for financial planning and fund management.
Auditing and Assurance:
Undertake audits and provide recommendations for improvement.
Ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with statutory requirements.
Requirements:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Bachelor of Commerce or Accounting.
At least 1 year of professional experience in accounting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent understanding of accounting principles and statutory compliance.
Proficiency in computer-based accounting systems.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
