Position Overview:
We are seeking an HR Manager to lead the development and implementation of Polyglot Group’s internal human resource services. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our employees, known as Polyglotters, are content, engaged, and motivated in their daily work.
Mission:
The HR Manager’s mission is to cultivate a company culture that prioritizes employee retention, development, and empowerment. The HR Manager will be supporting both employees and the leadership team on various HR-related matters.
The HR Manager is working closely with Heads of Services and Managers to ensure HR practices are consistently aligned.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Policy and Compliance Management:
• Develop and update HR policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards in all offices.
• Keep management informed about changes in labor laws and regulations.
2. Employee Relations:
• Advise managers on fostering positive relationships between employers and employees.
• Provide support on HR issues such as recruitment, onboarding, terminations, performance reviews, benefits, and organizational policies.
3. Administration and Payroll:
• Oversee the administration of benefits, allowances, payroll data, and employee records.
• Work with the Finance department to manage payroll processes and leave management.
4. Performance Management:
• Assist with annual performance reviews, job descriptions, salary scales, and market surveys.
• Handle employee relations and industrial relations issues, including grievances and disciplinary actions.
5. Training and Development:
• Coordinate with department heads on training, development, and performance management initiatives.
6. Internal Talent Acquisition:
• Lead national and international recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate selection, reference checks, and onboarding.
7. Continuous Learning and Development:
• Stay current with HR knowledge and best practices.
• Confidently negotiate with staff and candidates.
• Gain a thorough understanding of Polyglot’s services and delivery processes.
Skills Required
• Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in HR Management, Business Administration, Organisational Psychology or a field relevant to Human Resources.
• Excellent English and the ability to speak another language (French, Spanish preferred).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in managing various HR functions.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organisation goals.
• Understanding of federal, state (Australian), and/or local HR-related laws and best practices, with the ability to advise on regulations affecting HR practice.
• Proficiency in using BambooHR Software
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Skills to manage HR projects and initiatives efficiently.
Salary Range: $120,000-140,000
