Chef

VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced Chef to join our clients' restaurant in Altona. Our client, SALT N PEPA CAFE is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team, with strong communication skills.

The responsibilities will include:

Preparing food and ensuring high presentation quality;
Planning menus and specials for the restaurant;
Estimating food costs and ordering supplies as required;
Advising kitchen staff on cooking techniques procedures;
Monitoring costs in regards to waste minimization and stock control;
Carrying out quality checks while ensuring hygiene standards are maintained;
Working with the management to recruit and train new kitchen staff if required.

Skills required:

Previous experience in a similar role;
Have a passion for great food and presentation;
Ability to prioritize, set goals, and a determination to achieve them;
Experience in kitchen operations and staff training;
Experience with menu creation and costings;
Experience in stock control and wastage minimization.

Remuneration:

$73,150 + Superannuation
