JL International Corp is looking for young Restaurant Manager of entrepreneurship to create and build our new food catering business together. The restaurant manager will be responsible to lead our established flagship store in the front house.
JL INTERNATIONAL CORP came to life in November 2023 and our founders plan to bring exceptional California-style Mexican cuisine to Sydney. BAJA has a relaxing beer garden where amazing events often take place. JL INTERNATIONAL CORP established our second venue, CASA SOFIA, in Surry hills in 2024 and now our third venue is coming soon.
BAJA is a thriving restaurant located in the vibrant Glebe neighbourhood, known for its eclectic dining scene and lively nightlife. We offer delicious Mexican cuisine and a unique dining experience. Since open, we are critically acclaimed. Our mission is to create a warm and welcoming environment where our customers can enjoy exceptional food, drinks and service. We are looking at recruiting Restaurant Manager’s for our team, here you will work with a director and receive professional training.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Excellent verbal communication and time management skills;
• Maintaining high quality service standards;
• Maintaining composure in a high intensity and fast paced environment;
• Leading, scheduling and training the team to improve the overall service level of the team;
• Managing labor costs, reporting and balancing peak hours with peak service demands;
• Checking stock levels, ordering supplies and carrying out monthly stock counts;
• Overseeing bookings and building rapport with regulars to ensure their satisfaction;
• Confidently recommending menu and wine selections, having extensive product knowledge of Mexican cuisine and wines will be a plus;
• Coordinating menus, event schedules and service flow with the kitchen to ensure smooth operations;
• Experience of managing outsourced services for events and special occasions to ensure the success of each event.

As a qualified candidate, we hope you:
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience as a Restaurant Manager.
• Proven track record of driving sales and profitability while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically.
• Proficient in inventory management, and financial reporting.
• experience in budget management and cost control.
• Familiarity with Mexican culture.
• Knowledge of relevant health, safety and licensing regulations in the restaurant.
• Passion for the restaurant and a commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience.
