The Painting Trades Worker will be responsible for applying various finishes such as paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other coverings to protect, maintain, and enhance the appearance of surfaces within buildings and structures. This role requires a keen eye for detail and precision to ensure high-quality outcomes that meet both aesthetic and functional standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Surface Preparation:
Assessing surfaces for repairs, cleaning, and smoothing them to ensure they are ready for paint or other coverings.
Removing old paint or wallpaper using scrapers, sanders, or heat guns as required.
Paint and Finish Application:
Mixing and matching paint and other materials to achieve desired colors and textures.
Applying paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers to various surfaces as specified in project plans.
Wallpaper Application:
Measuring, cutting, and applying wallpaper or fabric to walls.
Ensuring patterns align and the wallpaper is smoothly applied without bubbles.
Maintenance and Clean-Up:
Maintaining equipment used in painting and decorating tasks.
Cleaning up supplies and work areas after project completion.
Quality Control:
Inspecting and touching up finished work to ensure that it meets the set quality standards.
Addressing any client feedback regarding the finishes applied.
Safety Compliance:
Following safety protocols to handle materials safely and operate equipment correctly.
Ensuring all work complies with relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum CERT III In Painting and Decoration
Minimum 4 years of experience int eh role.
Proficiency in using various hand and power tools required for painting and decorating.
Strong attention to detail and a good eye for color.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good time management skills to complete tasks within project timelines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
