The Client
Shakti Constructions Pty Ltd is an established building and constructions business located in Wingfield in South Australia. They now seek an experienced Constructor Estimator to join their team in Wingfield, SA.
The Role
This role is for a full-time basis with an annual salary set between $73,500 to $80,000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Collaborating with Construction and Engineering team to plan and organize resources
Interpreting architectural plans and building regulations to ensure all custom designs meet luxury standards and regulatory codes
Preparing and reviewing detailed preliminary sketches, working drawings, and specifications
Modifying and revising plans, maps, and drawings to reflect custom client requests while maintaining budgetary constraints
Coordinating construction programs to ensure the timely and budget-conscious delivery of client projects
Inspecting work and premium materials specifically steel structures to ensure they meet the high-quality standards
Calculating costs of materials, specialized labour, and unique design elements to provide accurate cost estimates
Advising on cost-saving measures and alternative high-quality materials
Estimating time scales for custom construction, considering the complexity of quality finishes and high-end craftsmanship
Collecting and analysing data using advanced surveying instruments and photogrammetric equipment to support precise cost estimations
Performing detailed computations and plotting data to assist in the budgeting and financial planning of construction projects
Evaluating tender submissions from specialized subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing for high-quality materials and services
Preparing comprehensive cost reports and financial forecasts to guide Shakti Constructions in maintaining profitability
Liaising with premium suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best rates and ensure the availability of exclusive materials and services
The Requirements:
Relevant Bachelor degree qualification in relevant field
At least 2 years of medium projects cost estimate or cost management experience in the commercial and residential building and construction sector
At least 2 years of cost management experience in the commercial and residential building and construction sector
Experience with steel structures preferred.
Verifiable track record of engagement in the project management or supervision will be considered prioritized
Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications and drawings
Comfortable working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, suppliers, and site/project managers
Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines
Commitment to staying updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
In-depth knowledge of local building codes, standards, and regulations
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective project documentation and stakeholder communication
Possess a can-do attitude and excellent time management
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment and independently when required
