The Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Primary Product Inspector (nec) to oversee the inspection and quality control of fresh produce. This role is crucial to maintaining Freshco Providore’s reputation for excellence by ensuring that all incoming and outgoing products meet the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, extensive knowledge of fresh produce, and a proactive approach to quality management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Inspection: Inspect and assess fresh produce for quality, size, ripeness, and overall condition, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company specifications.
2. Quality Control: Monitor the quality of products during storage and handling, identifying any issues such as spoilage, damage, or contamination.
3. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including product quality, defects, and any necessary corrective actions.
4. Compliance: Ensure that all produce complies with food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
5. Stock Management: Collaborate with the warehouse team to manage inventory, ensuring proper rotation of stock to maintain freshness.
6. Supplier Liaison: Communicate with suppliers regarding quality standards and provide feedback to address any quality issues.
7. Process Improvement: Assist in developing and implementing quality control processes and procedures to enhance product quality and minimize wastage.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Qualifications: Certificate or diploma in agriculture, food science, or a related field is desirable.
2. Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in product inspection, quality control, or a related role within the fresh produce or agricultural sector.
3. Skills: Strong knowledge of fresh produce quality standards, food safety regulations, and inspection techniques. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
4. Work Rights: Must have full working rights in Australia.
