The Job Role
Bunbury Farmers Markets seeks experienced Cooks and Chefs to work with the kitchen team.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Demonstrate understanding of food preparation and production in the kitchen whilst taking direction from the Head Chef to ensure smooth operation of all kitchen duties.
· Ensures the consistency of all menu items regardless of time of day or period of service
· Liaising with Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Assistants to achieve smooth delivery of food to guests
· Operation of kitchen equipment to achieve required results for ala carte and function service
· Work with the Head Chef to advance and improve current food operations
· Has understanding of stock control and works together with the kitchen team to minimize wastage
· Compliance and understanding of food safety policy and procedures (HACCP)
Qualifications and Experience
· Previous commercial kitchen experience is required for these roles – ideally at least 2 years of experience
· All relevant experience will be considered and for applicants with a relevant Australian trade certificate or qualification / training, less experience will be considered
· A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude and ability to work well in a team
· The ability to excel under pressure in a high-volume environment with excellent problem-solving skills
· Well developed communication and team skills
· Attention to detail with a focus on consistency
Salary
The Annual Salary is $73,150 - $75,000 commensurate to qualifications, skills, & experience.
