PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role coordinates the Coomera recreational programs and is responsible for the coaching and delivery of the recreational levels, KinderGym, adults and school programs.
The Coomera Recreational Gymnastics Coach & Coordinator will offer innovative, exciting and developmental programs that ensure the continued progression of gymnasts, allowing for retention of members, with the potential of progressing into the competitive programs of Gold Coast Gymnastics.
KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Club Culture & Leadership
Actively promote the vision, values, principles and practices of Gold Coast Gymnastics Club.
Contribute to building a culture of continuous improvement that supports the Club’s programs.
Actively encourage and enable all coaches within these programs.
Work closely with all other Team Leaders to ensure a cohesive workplace.
Build positive relationships with gymnasts, colleagues and other stakeholders.
Promptly and effectively manage and resolve coaching-related issues as they are brought to your attention. Report all feedback to the Technical Director
Attend all personal and professional development workshops and seminars that will assist in your development.
Be available to fill in coach when required as required.
Coaching
Actively coach classes.
Ensure coach-athlete ratios are maintained and adequate supervision of all recreational classes.
Mentor coaches and provided regular training as required.
Support coaches with their upskilling and coaching development.
Develop and maintain the apparatus rotations for all recreational programs in conjunction with other Coomera Team Leads
Recreational Level Program
Ensure lesson plans and curriculum are planned and correctly delivered to all gymnasts
Ensure gymnast skill progressions are maintained and updated to the gymnast’s profile
In collaboration with Member Services, regularly review class capacity, wait lists and open new classes and combine classes where required
School Holiday Program
Develop, schedule and implement the school holiday program during school holidays.
Coach participants of the school holiday program.
Ensure that the programs adhere to and comply with all relevant legislation and requirements.
Recreational Events
Develop, schedule and implement recreational events in collaboration with the Miami Recreational Coordinator and Technical Director.

School Bookings
Manage all bookings from schools
Schedule bookings into the club calendar
Roster coaches according to the booking numbers and requirements
Maintain relationships with current and future schools to increase school bookings.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure the maintenance and compliance of the recreational coaching skills and program levels, reporting monthly to the Technical Director of any updates.
Ensure all recreational coaches follow the policies and procedures in place to promote a strong safety culture and safe practices.
Report immediately any safety issues or risks to the Technical Director and General Manager.
Report any equipment repairs or maintenance requests through the GCGC Equipment Management App
Ensure injury reports are processed accordingly through the injury report app and there is communication with parents of gymnasts who have been referred to seek medical advice.
Staff Management
Develop working rosters for all Coomera recreational coaches weekly, in line with the current club and industry policies.
Approve timesheets for all Coomera recreational coaches weekly.
Build a competent and motivated coaching team that are committed to building the culture within Gold Coast Gymnastics and its members.
In conjunction with the Technical Director, ensure all Coomera recreational coaches are accredited at the appropriate level, attending workshops and professional development sessions.
