Job description:
• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, tarts, bagels, and others ensuring adherence to established recipes and high-quality standards.
• Assist in developing and refining new pastry recipes and menu items, contributing creative ideas and innovative techniques.
• Monitor and maintain consistency in the appearance, texture, and taste of all baked goods.
• Utilise advanced pastry techniques, such as lamination for croissants and precise temperature control for different dough types, to achieve desired results.
• Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofers, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
• Follow food safety practices, including proper sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Adhere to health regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications/Attributes:
• Must hold Certificate III in Baking, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the qualification.
• Must possess at least a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Adept knowledge of pastry techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 p.a. excluding superannuation.
