FULL TIME CHEFS
Arya Indian Restaurant is seeking for 2 full time Chefs.
We are looking for qualified and experience full-time Chefs to join our team to join our vibrant and energetic team at Arya Indian Restaurant in Narren Warren VIC. Remuneration will range from $74,200 -$75,500 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation depending on the candidate’s skills and experience.
The restaurant is located in Narre Warren South and is deeply passionate about providing excellent customer service. The restaurant is looking for a full-time Chef who can manage the kitchen and staff efficiently.

Responsibilities:
• Food preparation, presentation and service.
• Planning menu, preparing food items and introducing dishes in consultation with the senior Chef.
• Assist senior chefs with daily kitchen preparations.
• Ensuring consistently high standards of food presentation and quality are maintained.
• Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements
• Regulate cooking temperatures using of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment.
• Check food is stored and handled as per food health and hygiene regulations.
• Stock checking, including ordering, accepting deliveries and ensuring the safe storage of products.
• Ensure that your work area, equipment and section are kept clean at all times, in accordance with health and hygiene, and strictly implementing our OH&S policies.
• Contributing to menu design.
• Prepare and train other staff members to cook gluten free breads and also contribute to junior staff training.

Skills and Experience Required:
• Preferably 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Associate’s degree, diploma, or certification in relevant Hospitality qualification.
• Experience in making bulk curries, basic gravies and also knowledgeable about Balti, Indian and Chettinad cuisine.
• Experience in A’ la carte pan section at fast pace while maintaining high standards and portion control
• Well versed in all aspects of Tandoori cooking such as marination of meat, vegetables and making kebabs and gluten free breads.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
• Preparing special diets such as gluten free, vegan, nut free, onion & garlic free and dairy free.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
