FULL TIME CHEF DE PARTIE
Annual salary: $65,000 to $75,000 plus Super
SUMMARY
We are seeking a Chef De Partie on a full-time basis (38 hours a week) to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our customers/patrons. Chef responsibilities include looking after multiple sections, maintaining standards across the kitchen, training of junior staff, studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes. You should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner. Also, you should be familiar with sanitation regulations.
DUTIES
• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and cooking equipment
• Study each recipe and prepare all necessary ingredients
• Prepare and cook food in a timely manner
• Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
• Menu planning and modifications
• Ensure appealing plate presentation
• Supervise and train Kitchen staffs and assist as needed
• Monitor and manage food stock and ingredients
• Check freshness of food, preserve food and discard out-of-date items
• Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
• Create menus according to customer’s dietary requirements
• Ensure hygiene regulations and compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
REQUIRED SKILLS
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position, working in a busy pub/restaurant.
• Relevant Australian qualification as a Chef
• If holding a visa; visa with unrestricted work
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
• Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
• Teamwork and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and undertake multiple tasks
• High level of time management abilities
