About this opportunity

This role will sit with Sulo, which operates a highly automated plastic injection moulding plant in Somersby, Central Coast of NSW, renowned for manufacturing wheelie bins. Our world-class facility utilises advanced technology for Mobile Garbage Bin (MGB) production.

The Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability (HSES) Advisor is responsible for implementing policies, procedures, and initiatives to foster a safe, healthy, and environmentally sustainable workplace.

The position will provide a connection between the Site, Divisional and Group level HSES activities and will drive the implementation of the Group HSES Systems while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and sustainability regulations and standards in accordance with Australian laws and industry best practices. 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate potential incidents.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on HSE matters
  • Lead incident investigations
  • Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards and ensure timely updates to policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to promote awareness and enhance competencies in HSE and sustainability practices.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Proven experience in health, safety, environmental, and sustainability management within a manufacturing environment in Australia.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian health, safety, environmental, and sustainability legislation and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and influence stakeholders across different levels and backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques
