Hargreaves Joinery are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Furniture Finisher to join their team in Yarrawonga, VIC 3730.
The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:
- Meeting with the customer to discuss finishing and color requirements.
- Disassembling the furniture or wooden item.
- Inspecting the wood for rot and physical damage.
- Repairing broken parts, removing imperfections, and filling in cracks.
- Removing old finishings and excess solvent.
- Sanding and smoothing the item in preparation for finishing.
- Selecting and applying finishing lubricants such as varnish, stains, or shellac.
- Replacing or refurbishing upholstery.
- Inspecting the refurbished product and completing job reports.
Skills and Abilities:
- 3 years experience in furniture Finisher
- Good communication, planning and organisation skills
- Be good at working on your own initiative and also as part of a Team
- Be able to efficiently manage your own time and the time utilised by others
- Have strong Problem-Solving skills
- Have good initiative and be enterprising in your approach to your work
- Ability to maintain good Public relations
- Have good IT skills, be able to competently use office technology
- Good knowledge and understanding of Environmental, Quality & OHS Management Systems
- Good knowledge of relevant legislative requirements
- Be willing to learn new skills and expand your knowledge as the business requires.
- Ideally have Certificate III in Furniture Finishing
Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
