Bundaberg Sugar participates in all levels of the raw sugar industry in the districts in which it operates.

Bundaberg Sugar is seeking highly skilled Fitter & Turner to join their team of professionals on a full time and permanent basis.
The role includes but is not limited to:
Be a member of the Emergency Response Team and attend training as required.
Carry out Millaquin site plant maintenance and capital works as directed which pertains to skills held. Plant items include packaging equipment, conveyors, palletisers, pumps, fans, gearboxes, motors, vessels, valves, etc.
Carry out Millaquin plant maintenance and capital works as directed which pertains to skills held. Plant items include mills, boilers, turbines, fugals, conveyors, carriers, pumps, fans, gearboxes, motors, vessels, pressure vessels, valves, etc
Operate within a Computerised Maintenance Management System for all work undertaken
Work in conjunction with parameters set by established condition monitoring techniques
In relevant areas coach and assist other personnel within their roles
Supply advice within competencies and skills regarding maintenance and related matters to contribute to safe and efficient operations
Assist other personnel to establish appropriate programs and planning to ensure the availability of plant and equipment
Assist with initiating and developing projects to enhance the availability and efficiency of Packaging, Refinery, Mill plant and equipment
Completion of logs, risk assessments, permits, assessments and other administrative duties related to the role
Undertake fitting or other tasks (e.g. welding, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.) within level of skills held and nominated to be used as part of the classification level
Work effectively with the team to ensure that food safety and quality of the products is maintained in compliance with food safety standards
Actively participate in the development and implementation of Company safety initiatives and objectives
Comply with statutory requirements and company policies, rules and procedures including those relating to WHS, HR, Environment and
Quality
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Sugar Milling or refinery experience and/or maintenance background (or a food processing industry background)
Current driver’s licence
Trade qualifications as an Engineering Tradesperson (Fitting or Fitting and Turning)
Experience in general fitting, basic welding, repair maintenance work, Computer literacy/knowledge and knowledge/experience of using Computerised Maintenance Management System
Excellent verbal communication skills
Efficient management of time and work priorities
Technically capable, Innovative and inquiring
Commercially astute, Sets and aims for high standards
Results driven with “Can Do” mindset in all activities
Thinks broadly and creatively
Understands the implications of actions on business
Able to conceptualise and articulate beneficial proposals

Salary: Between $70,000 and $75,000 per annum + Super
