Hanssen Pty. Ltd, is a WA based company in Hazelmere and looking for a skilled and experience Wall and Floor Tiler to join their workforce on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Surface Inspection: Prior to tiling, tilers inspect the surfaces that will be covered with tiles. This involves assessing the condition of the area, determining the suitability for tiling, and identifying any issues that need to be addressed before the tiling process begin.
• Estimations and Quotes: Must be able to calculate the number of tiles needed, the quantities of materials required, and the costs associated with installation and labour, along with estimating the time it will take to complete the tiling project.
• Surface Preparation: Prepare the wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, cement, and adhesive. The surfaces are then cleaned and levelled to ensure a smooth base for the new tiles.
• Planning and Layout: Able to look at plans, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered and lay out the work, ensuring that the tiles will be positioned correctly and aesthetically.
• Tile Cutting and Shaping: Must use tile-cutting tools tilers cut and shape tiles to fit edges, corners, and around obstacles such as fittings and fixtures.
• Forming Tile Beds: Create a base for the tiles using materials like concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue, or mortar. Tools such as screeds, brushes, and trowels are used in this process to ensure a level and firm foundation for the tiles.
• Filling Gaps and Repairing Surfaces: Fill gaps, cracks, and holes in the floors and walls to ensure a smooth and even surface before the tiles can be laid.
Eligibility Criteria:
• AQF certificate III with two years on-job training or certificate III
• 2-3 years’ experience as plasterer in same industry
• Full-time working rights in Australia
Salary - $73,150-$75,000 plus super
