Hanssen Pty. Ltd, is a WA based company in Hazelmere and looking for a skilled and experience plasterer to join their workforce on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Preparing surfaces before applying plaster to ensure it can properly adhere by involve cleaning the surface, removing old plaster or wallpaper, and applying a bonding agent.
• Mixing plaster materials and other compounds to the right consistency, depending on the type of finish required and the surface being worked on.
• Applying smooth, consistent application layers of plaster to walls, ceilings, and other structures using tools such as trowels and spatulas to achieve a level surface.
• Creating textures for decorative finishes, plasterers may texture the plaster before it dries. Use techniques such as stippling, swirling, or creating patterns with brushes, combs, or other tools.
• Sanding and finishing once the plaster has dried, it may need to be sanded down to achieve a smooth finish. Plasterers also seal the plaster with a finishing coat to protect it and sometimes paint over it.
• Installing plasterboard (drywall) panels and prepare them for painting or wallpapering by taping and finishing the joints and imperfections.
• Repairing cracks and holes in existing plaster, matching the texture and color of the surrounding area as closely as possible.
• Adhering to safety protocols to protect themselves and others on the job site by wearing protective gear and safely using ladders and scaffolding.
• Estimating the cost of materials and labour for a project.
• Maintaining tools and equipment such as trowels, mixers, and other tools is essential to ensure they are in good condition and safe to use.
Eligibility Criteria:
• AQF certificate III with two years on-job training or certificate III
• 2-3 years’ experience as plasterer in same industry
• Full-time working rights in Australia
Salary - $73,150-$75,000 plus super
