About the Role This exciting new leadership position has been created to support increasing growth in theatre utilisation at Northern Beaches Hospital. This new role will drive and lead the operational delivery of exceptional patient care. The theatre porter coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the Perioperative orderly services are provided in a timely and effective manner in accordance with the department requirements. The Interventional Suite has 14 state-of-the-art operating theatres including a hybrid theatre & a cardiothoracic theatre; 2 Cardiac Catheter Labs; 4 Procedure Rooms; 41 bed Recovery Unit; Anaesthetics Service and state of the art Sterilising Services Department. As the Theatre Porter coordinator, you will make an impact to the Perioperative services by working closely with the Perioperative NUMs and Clinical Coordinators to ensure the patient journey is smooth and efficient. Manage daily functions of the of the theatre orderly team (breaks, assignments, distribution of workload and theatre allocations) Provide exceptional customer/patient service by safely transporting/lifting patients, communicating with clarity and empathy. Assist in the assembling, removal, education and maintenance of equipment for the operating theatre. An aspiring leader with a passion for developing talent within the team, you will also possess the following skills and attributes: · Theatre porter experience of at least 2 years · Recent experience leading a department (including Team leader) · Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach · Knowledge of work, health and safety for patients and staff · Passion for quality improvement initiatives · High level of planning and organising skills · Well-developed oral and written communication · High degree of computer literacy · Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded What We Offer: Our OneHealthscope rewards program gives you access to a range of wellness benefits, as well as discounted onsite parking at Northern Beaches Hospital and access to Fitness Passport!
