Branch Manager based in Emerald. Managing a small team. Excellent remuneration + relocation assistance. Your new company Our client specialises in providing comprehensive coal testing and analysis services. Their offerings include sampling, borecore analysis, mine-site and production services, and superintending services. They ensure accurate and timely results for coal quality management, from exploration to export. Additionally, they provide gas desorption testing for the coal seam gas industry and underground mining. Our client is looking for a Branch Manager for their Emerald depot. Your new role Located in Emerald, you will be engaged in all aspects of the business, overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory and mine site services. As Branch Manager, you are expected to manage operations within budget while meeting the expectations of both clients and Management. Reporting to the Business Manager, the primary responsibilities include:

Supervising, coordinating, and overseeing mine site activities to ensure high-quality service delivery to clients.
Managing Profit & Loss (P&L) accounts.
Ensuring staff are properly trained and equipped with the necessary skills to fulfil their roles effectively.
Fostering ongoing staff development to maintain high morale and promote employee retention.
Actively promoting teamwork while providing both operational and strategic leadership.
Ensuring the business operates within budget constraints and collaborating with the team to achieve or surpass budget targets.
Familiarising with and adhering to safety requirements as outlined in the safety manual.
Overseeing the induction and training of all new employees, with a strong emphasis on safety procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

A tertiary qualification in Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
Over 5 years of industry experience in coal analysis, which would be advantageous.
Proven experience in laboratory and staff supervision.
Knowledge of fundamental business principles.
A strong focus on customer service.
The ability to manage change in a dynamic work environment.
Strong leadership qualities.
Skills in negotiation, influencing, and conflict resolution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
