At least 2 years of full-time work experience as a Gardener are required for this role, or 3 years if you do not have a qualification as listed below.
The main duties for this Gardener role look like this:
• Prepare and maintain seedbeds and growing areas to foster optimal plant growth.
• Propagate and plant a variety of trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, and bulbs.
• Prepare lawn areas by applying topsoil, planting grass, and laying instant turf.
• Maintain both planted and grassed areas through regular weeding, trimming, fertilising, watering, and mowing.
• Prune trees and hedges and install necessary support and protection devices for plants.
• Examine trees to assess their health and determine appropriate treatment.
• Lop tree limbs and shape branches using chainsaws and handsaws.
• Spray and dust plants and trees to control pests and diseases, and remove diseased trees as needed.
• Set out and install hardscape and softscape structures according to design specifications.
• Construct various garden features, including gravel and paved areas, walls, fences, pergolas, ponds, barbecues, and garden furniture.
• Prepare detailed plans and drawings, select suitable materials and plants, and schedule landscape construction activities.
You will be reporting directly to the General Manager.
The successful candidate must have a relevant AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or a relevant AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
This is a fulltime (38 hours/week) position.
Annual salary: $74k + superannuation (must be more than $73,150)
