The Farm hand will assist in the efficient operation and management of the farm. Crops being produced on our farms include almonds, wine grapes, citrus, mangoes, seedless watermelon, rockmelons, broccoli, and pumpkin.
About the role:
• Operate small tractors.
• Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops.
• Perform general farm labouring tasks.
• Perform daily pre-start checks.
• Record basic information about crops.
• Dig and plant seeds, or transplant seedlings by hand.
• Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand.
• Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive to storage facilities.
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
• Evidence of work rights.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude
• Mechanically inclined, good with tools and machinery.
• Confidence using modern technology such as smartphones.
• Current Driver's License and transport.
• Team player who can work effectively with people from different backgrounds.
• Awareness and ability to adhere to WHS requirements.
• Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets, including weekends and public holidays.
• Experience within the agricultural industry, a truck license, Chemical Accreditation (ChemCert) and/or a valid forklift license would be considered an advantage.
