Job duties / Responsibilities:
Your contribution to the effectiveness of the HSEQ management system may result in benefits determined by the company at performance reviews. Performance reviews shall also identify improvement opportunities where non-conforming with management system requirements are identified. Without fear of consequence, you are to remove yourself from work situation that present an imminent serious danger to your life or health.
• Preventive and scheduled maintenance of LV and Diesel Trucks for optimized performance.
• Perform complex troubleshooting, fault rectification, repairs, and modifications.
• Preventive and scheduled maintenance of forklifts and generator servicing and repairs.
• Trailer Repairs
• Keeping the workshop clean
• Following up on all Pre Starts on Trucks, Trailers, Forklifts and Generators.
• While at work, workers must take reasonable care for their own health and safety, and that of others who may be affected by the worker’s acts or omissions.
A worker must also:
• comply, so far as they are reasonably able, with any reasonably instruction that is given by the?PCBU?to comply with the?model WHS Act?and
• cooperate with any reasonable policy or procedure of the?PCBU?relating to health or safety at the workplace that has been notified to workers.
A worker can be prosecuted for failing to comply with their duties.
• Report on all accident, incidents or near misses to your immediate Manager and through InControl within allocated time frame
• Act upon InControl actions before due date
• Actively ensure area is safe, by conducting regular audits of own work area and site
• Assist and co-operate at all stages of awarded contracts where required to ensure safe work methods, tools, equipment and materials are provided for undertaking the work in a safe and professional manner.
• Ensure that any defective plant, equipment or facilities are reported and, where necessary, decommissioned and taken out of use until repaired or replaced or other appropriate action taken to ensure that the work area is without risk to health, safety or Environment
• Participate in workplace internal/external audits
• Identify improvement opportunities through InControl
• Contribute to the Earn Your Stripes “Safeman” initiative.
Education & Experience
• Valid Drivers Licence (MC Beneficial)
• Valid Forklift Licence (LF)
• Trade Qualified – Mechanic/Diesel Fitter
• Minimum of 3 years mechanic experience
Skills & Abilities
• Possess strong attention to detail, have excellent time management and communication skills
• Experience in the transport industry
• Ability to effectively deal with high pressure environments and tight deadlines

Salary : From $73,150 per annum +super
